Historia
As the 1938 hurricane approaches Rhode Island, another storm brews in this New York Times best-selling beach listen from the author of Her Last Flight and The Golden Hour. Lily Dane has returned to Seaview, Rhode Island, where her family has summered for generations. It’s an escape not only from New York’s social scene but from a heartbreak that still haunts her. Here, among the seaside community that has embraced her since childhood, she finds comfort in the familiar rituals of summer.

Beatriz Williams does it again!
Revisado: 08-17-19
I love Williams’ style of writing, bringing historical events into the story and flashing back and forth between two time periods. I also really enjoy how her characters all tie into each story one way or another, regardless of the time period. Can’t wait to read her next.

Historia
Every day we experience the uncertainty, risks, and emotional exposure that define what it means to be vulnerable or to dare greatly. Based on 12 years of pioneering research, Dr. Brené Brown dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and argues that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage. Brown explains how vulnerability is both the core of difficult emotions like fear, grief, and disappointment, and the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, empathy, innovation, and creativity.

Beneficial Tools
Revisado: 07-28-18
This is a wonderful resource not only for EMDR therapists, but for any individual who would like to begin a tapping meditation practice. One suggestion would be to attach a “Table of Contents” as the Audible does not follow the book’s layout. As a clinician, I refer often to the book and have also suggested the Audible to use for the guided meditations, however I had to create my own table of contents for clients so they would know where to locate each topic since it is not in the same order as the book. Another option would be to put guided meditations as a chapter by itself, per meditation to make it an easier resource to get to as someone is ready to complete an exercise.

Historia
Dr. Brown defines spirituality as something not reliant on religion, theology, or dogma - rather, it is a belief in our interconnectedness and in a loving force greater than ourselves. Whether you access the sacred through traditional worship, solitary meditation, communion with nature, or creative pursuits, one thing is clear: Rising strong after falling is a spiritual practice that brings a sense of perspective, meaning, and purpose to our lives.

Just finished today and have already recommended to many people within both my personal and professional circle. So many new ways of looking at our perspective of ourselves and others and ways to act on what we find.

Exceptional writing for trauma therapists
Revisado: 10-21-17
This book should be required reading for every therapist, doctor, politician, and teachers working in high-risk schools. Exceptional look at long-term consequences of trauma on the brain.
