A biblical solution to a very real problem

What a beautiful testimony to the power of the love of Christ at work in the lives of those who yield to Him! Love is listed first in the fruit of the Spirit. Showing love to someone who society has said you should hate is a wonderful demonstration of Christ. However, as Clarence and Gary help us understand, what we think is a show of love may be offensive to someone of another culture. Take time to learn, and take time to love.

Having been written so long ago, it should be evident to anyone that this need for praying pastors, to whom this book is written, is even greater today. I am convicted of my own lack of prayer in general and private prayer in particular. May we realize how empty we are without the fullness of the power of God made available to us through prayer. Men of God, let’s hit our knees and spend time with our Savior in prayer!
Needless to say, I highly recommend this book to anyone who has a desire to be used of the Lord, especially pastors.

It has always been my belief that teenagers do not have to be defined by societies expectations. Alex and Brett give excellent advice and share personal stories that inspire young and old(er) alike to go beyond average, reach for a goal, and do hard things. I love the statement they made regarding teamwork, "Credit is free, and we give it away!"

Adults and teens need to hear/read this book.

Todd Starnes down-home, charming method of storytelling, coupled with his honest reporting of news somehow missed by mainstream media is a refreshing shift from the typical barrage of liberal bent. Some of the events he tells about are hard to hear and/or believe in this land of the free, but it is important to realize that many of these freedoms have gradually eroded as we have followed the pied pipers of political correctness. It is time to take notice, take a stand, and take it to God in prayer and repentance.
Thank you, Mr. Starnes for this dose of reality!

Our Lord tells us throughout His Word many of the various ways He works in our lives through the roles He fills: I AM the Good Shepherd, the Bread of Life, the Light of the World, the Resurrection and the Life, and many, many more. Jesus in the Present Tense is a wonderful reminder and study that shows us that Jesus is all we need. Warren W. Wiersbe masterfully takes each "I AM" statement and lays it out in a clear, understandable, and thrilling way. Be encouraged by Jesus in the Present Tense. He is not the I WAS; He is I AM!
