Overall story for this book wasnt worth the wait

1. Performance was great! Nick Podehl brought it!
2. Book 8 really felt like it was just filler. Majority of the story is basically getting info/stats for new powers and how it can possibly help the Myst village Flashing back to previous adventures from books 1-7. If you compare the length of book 7 (46 hours) to book 8 (16 hours), you probably spent 3-4 hours just on the stats for powers and how it could possibly help the village, which would have been fine, if story would have at least wrapped up his time underground.
3. All the characters you love from the previous books are not in this book (other than a brief cameo) . You never really find out what is happening at the village following the epic battle from Book 7.
4. Spoiler warning here: the Poop room part of the story was really over the top . I don't understand why we had to spend so time of story on it.
My biggest gripe is how book 8 just feels like it was incomplete and the story just ends. Maybe it was split into 2 books for various reasons...just as whole, it really feels like a letdown.
My suggestion: I would wait for Book 9 to be released before getting book 8. That way, you will get a complete story for book 8. Im happy to see the story continue but disappointed with book 8.

I really liked the story and world building element of this Book 2. Author had to really expand on the world (new setting) and get certain pieces in place before really kicking things into high gear. I really appreciated the natural progression of the characters and the story.
