Historia
A successful film professor and podcaster, Bodie Kane is content to forget her past—the family tragedy that marred her adolescence, her four largely miserable years at a New Hampshire boarding school, and the murder of her former roommate, Thalia Keith, in the spring of their senior year. Though the circumstances surrounding Thalia’s death and the conviction of the school’s athletic trainer, Omar Evans, are hotly debated online, Bodie prefers—needs—to let sleeping dogs lie.

I really enjoyed this mystery. The author keeps the reader on their toes- with a hefty dose of social commentary along the way. Very modern take on an age old problem.

Murder is a dish best served ice cold... In the idyllic, small town of Dewstow, Margery and Clementine are eagerly awaiting retirement from their work on the front-line serving meals to the students at Summerview secondary school. Their peaceful life is shattered when their kitchen manager is found dead in the school’s walk-in freezer. The police are adamant that it’s an open-and-shut case of accidental death. But Margery and Clementine are convinced that something more sinister is afoot and take it upon themselves to investigate.

Light summer reading
Revisado: 08-12-23
This mystery is not going to blow you away, but I liked the the easy pace and side stories of the characters. No horrifying violence, only one murder. If you’re in to cozy mysteries, it’s pretty good.

Historia
It's 1977. Ike and Lucy, Senator Charlie and Margaret Marder's kids, are grown up—and in trouble. US Marine Ike has gone somewhat off the grid, working on Evel Knievel's pit crew in Montana, when—after a bar fight—he has to flee a neo-Nazi gang and seek refuge in the woods with a group of Vietnam veterans. Lucy, a reporter, has become the star of the brand-new Washington DC tabloid, the Sentinel, and is breaking all sorts of stories about a serial killer and falling in with the Lyons, the wealthy family that owns the newspaper.

A Walk Down Memory Lane
Revisado: 07-21-23
This fun suspense novel walks through a chunk of 70’s history I had forgotten. Evil Kneival. Haven’t thought about his crazy jumps since I was a child. The woman narrator whispered her part too often, otherwise a fun summer read. Haunting how much the 70’s had in common with current politics.

Wonderful Book!
Revisado: 12-28-22
I love time travel stories and this book does not disappoint. It also gives an empathetic look at the horrors of slavery in the early nineteenth century. Great read.

Soooo bad
Revisado: 11-01-19
I don’t know what was worse: the inane plot or the terrible accents done by the narrator. Someone needs to clue him in that a British accent is not the same as American southern. So, so bad.
