One of the best medical center books I’ve ever encountered
Revisado: 06-24-19
I’m not a doctor. But I worked as a registered nurse for many years in geriatric facilities. I remember having the same feelings of frustration of not being able to do more. The one satisfaction I had was that the people I was caring for had lived most of their lives. A lot of what I did was just to make their end months or years better. And that gave me a lot of comfort. But still, that feeling of never having done enough, Seems to always linger. Maybe it’s just a part of caring. But I certainly could relate to what I heard in this book.

From the diagnosis of his childhood friend’s mother to his poignant memories in the lab, David Scadden’s seen the unknown world of cancer from the lens of a young boy, a classmate, a researcher, a friend, a doctor, and a neighbor. Very inspiring book about research

I really enjoyed listening to this book. I happen to be a registered nurse and I don’t know if everyone would understand all of the information provided. But I found it extremely resourceful. I feel much more confident about the future with researchers and professors like Dr. Skadden who seems so dedicated to what he’s doing. I’m waiting to see if he writes anything else equally as refreshing as this book.

Historia
Why cracking the code of human conception took centuries of wild theories, misogynist blunders, and ludicrous mistakes.Throughout most of human history, babies were surprises. People knew the basics: Men and women had sex, and sometimes babies followed. But beyond that the origins of life were a colossal mystery. The Seeds of Life is the remarkable and rollicking story of how a series of blundering geniuses and brilliant amateurs struggled for two centuries to discover where, exactly, babies come from.

Historia
The fascinating science and history of the air we breathe. It's invisible. It's ever present. Without it, you would die in minutes. And it has an epic story to tell. In Caesar's Last Breath, New York Times best-selling author Sam Kean takes us on a journey through the periodic table, around the globe, and across time to tell the story of the air we breathe, which, it turns out, is also the story of earth and our existence on it.

Slow first chapter but then fantastic!
Revisado: 02-01-18
I guess I really didn’t understand the beginning of the book. But once I got into it, I found it to be one of the best scientific experiences I’ve ever had. It was witty yet very informative. Please – don’t let the first chapter keep you from listening to the rest of it. In fact it might be that I’m the only one who found the first chapter difficult. The remainder of the book is eye-opening.
