Oh boy....

It’s clear this guy fancy himself as a Hunter S. Thompson. It’s just a bunch of babbling nonsense. I really tried to give a chance and usually no matter how bad I always give a book a chance and stick it through to the end. I couldn’t even make past chapter 6. This book. Its not good

Wow I’ve sat through many of bad books but this one was something special. I was really hoping a story to lean mostly on the author’s real story because I know he has an interesting one. What I got was sounds like something I would’ve wrote during my teenaged edge lord phase in high school. The story just came off as the author and wanting to live this rockstar and lifestyle by curiously through this scumbag of a character. I’ve never heard anyone say how talented and sexy they were so many times in one book. It’s clear you think very highly of yourself. Honestly I would be shocked if you weren’t on coke or any other heavy drug delirium when writing this.

No matter how bad a book I will sit through to the end to give it a fair chance. Every bad book I’ve heard has some sort of silver lining whether it’s so bad it funny and entertaining. This book was a chore to get through. The main character as I mention is a scumbag and but it seems to be excuse because he’s a “tortured” and less we forget “TALENTED” soul. All the other characters are just cartoonish. I could not take any of it serious even if it was somehow based on true events which most of the story I seriously doubt. I could only take the monotone of the narrator for so long. Don’t even get me started how many times he had said “note.” My eyes rolled so much I often and to fish them out my skull.

To sum it all up, this book is either a testament to to your intelligence. Or an insult to the readers.

I’ve listen to many war memoirs... But wow. This one..

Let’s just say much like the author with his family I had to turn in hide my face from my coworkers because I would teared up many, many times from this book.

Don’t be next on the presidential hit list Shaun!

Thank you Shaun for opening people’s eyes who normally wouldn’t look in that direction. You lure them in with good prison stories and you yank them down the rabbit hole of deceit. Thank again you really did your homework. I will be sharing this book series with everyone who will listen.

A few flaws in my opinion, but a great book

It took some time to get used to the female narrator… It was hard to picture Han Solo in that voice speaking... but I guess it's because I have been binging on other Star Wars books that more accurately depicts him. But I got used to it and I love the overall story.

Very good story telling

Sure there are some cheesy dialogue between the characters. And I feel that the gay relationship is a bit forced... Even with that said I think Sinjir Rath Velus is my favorite character in the whole book. You really need to check this book out and all the others in this series if haven't already!

An important piece to the Star Wars puzzle!

I really don't not understand why the reviews I have read before buying this book. I think people are just bummed that there are no stereotypical light saber fight that associated with Star Wars. It is an amazing book! Sure there were some really cheesy parts and some of the characters made me cringe... but all in all 10 out of 10 would recommend!!!!

Very underwhelming and predictable 😩

I was really excited for this book but man... I like the idea of the sound effects and full voice cast to kinda give it a cinematic feel... however in the case it comes off very awkward and somewhat like cheesy b movie. They say stuff that no one would ever say, especially when lives at stake. I know it's the let us know what's going on because we can't see, but it really takes me out of the story. Literally shouting everything that's going on and the one-liners and lame jokes... no just no. Do not waste any money or credits on this one.

Good story however...

All in all this was a great book. But it just seem a little all over the place story wise. I don't know if Jim was improving during this recording or not, but he wasn't I probably find actually reading this book really difficult because the dialogue was l scattered and rarely was focus

Intuitive and inspiring!

It's great to listen to people that has gone through crazy stuff not only for entertainment, but to me it also serves help inspire me for my own sobriety. Great listen!
