Historia
In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the OASIS, a vast virtual world where most of humanity spends their days. When the eccentric creator of the OASIS dies, he leaves behind a series of fiendish puzzles, based on his obsession with the pop culture of decades past. Whoever is first to solve them will inherit his vast fortune—and control of the OASIS itself.

One of my new favorites!
Revisado: 08-08-18
I have no idea how I have not come across this book before!?! It is one of my new favorite books. I love all of the references to tv, movies, video games and all of other things! Wil Wheaton does a fantastic job with the narration and the story is just great. I know I have come across a book I will love for life when 2 things happen while I read/listen to them. First I don’t want the story to end and say good by to the characters. Second, when I do finish I have a big smile on my face!

Historia
In 1518, in a small town in Alsace, Frau Troffea began dancing and didn't stop. She danced until she was carried away six days later, and soon 34 more villagers joined her. Then more. In a month more than 400 people had been stricken by the mysterious dancing plague. In late-19th-century England an eccentric gentleman founded the No Nose Club in his gracious townhome - a social club for those who had lost their noses, and other body parts, to the plague of syphilis for which there was then no cure.

Fascinating and informative
Revisado: 08-11-17
This book was a fantastic illumination on times in human history were disease was the greatest villain to the human race. Jennifer Wright talks about the worst plagues throughout history and gives readers The who, what, when, where and how of all of them. She also does a marvelous job of giving the facts without weighing it down with technical jargon. There is also a good dose of wit and humor injected to keep the plagues at bay through the reading.

Historia
Hailed as one of the world’s masterpieces of psychological realism, The Death of Ivan Ilyich is the story of a worldly careerist, a high-court judge who has never given the inevitability of his death so much as a passing thought. But one day death announces itself to him, and to his shocked surprise he is brought face-to-face with his own mortality. How, Tolstoy asks, does an unreflective man confront his one and only moment of truth?

Wonderful book on a difficult topic
Revisado: 09-01-16
This book is one of my favorites. I think Tolstoy does well in illuminating a difficult and uncomfortable topic for many, that of death. In the novel you are taken through the life and death of Ivan Ilyich, and his perceptions about what is happening to him as he approaches death. It brings into focus a perspective of death that people do not always notice.

Historia
From New York Times best-selling author Sam Kean come more incredible stories of science, history, language, and music, as told by our own DNA. There are genes to explain crazy cat ladies, why other people have no fingerprints, and why some people survive nuclear bombs. Genes illuminate everything from JFK's bronze skin (it wasn't a tan) to Einstein's genius. They prove that Neanderthals and humans bred thousands of years more recently than any of us would feel comfortable thinking.

A good introduction to the Romanovs
Revisado: 07-14-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I think that this book was a nice overview of the Romanov family. I am in no way any sort of expert in this area, but I feel like I was given a good taste of the families history. It has mad me want to learn more about this dynasty in Russian history. I am sure if you are a history buff you may know all the stories of the Russian royalty in this book and probably more. For those who may not know the history this is a wonderful starting point.
