Historia
Justis Fearsson is a private investigator on the trail of a serial killer in Phoenix, Arizona. Justis is also a weremyste - a person with a wizard’s gifts and the ability to see into the paranormal world. Unfortunately, weremystes also tend to go crazy on the full moon - which is why Justis is no longer a cop. Hard to explain those absences as anything but mental breakdown. But now an old case from his police detective days has come back to haunt him, literally, as a serial killer known as the Blind Angel strikes again.

I don't know how I happened on this title, but I very much enjoyed it. Easy to follow the storyline, enjoyed all the characters, just a very enjoyable read. I'm slightly depressed to find there are only three titles in this series, so instead of racing to start reading through the rest, I'll have to take it slow and savor.

Historia
For his victims, for their families and for the investigators tasked with finding him, the senselessness and brutality of the Golden State Killer's acts were matched only by the powerlessness they felt at failing to uncover his identity. Then, on April 24, 2018, authorities arrested 72-year-old Joseph James DeAngelo at his home in Citrus Heights, Calif., based on DNA evidence linked to the crimes. Amazingly, it seemed, evil finally had a name. Please note: This work contains descriptions of violent crime and sexual assault and may not be suitable for all listeners.

I enjoyed this -- well laid out, the narration was perfect. I've been following this story for years, and this was the natural follow up after reading Michele MacNamera's book.

I enjoyed this set so much, hated to see it end. I've read a few Sherlock Holmes over the years but this was wonderful having so many all in the same place -- and the narration was superb!!!

Historia
Dr. Kay Scarpetta is working a suspicious death scene when an emergency alert sounds on her phone. A video link lands in her text messages and seems to be from her computer-genius niece, Lucy. But how can it be? It's clearly a surveillance film of Lucy taken almost 20 years ago. As Scarpetta watches she begins to learn frightening secrets about her niece. That film clip and others sent soon after raise dangerous legal implications that increasingly isolate Scarpetta and leave her confused, worried, and not knowing where to turn.

Thank goodness it's over.
Revisado: 11-14-15
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Nothing could have helped this book -- except a complete rewrite.
What was most disappointing about Patricia Cornwell’s story?
It took forever to get anywhere -- and then where it 'got to' wasn't worth get to.
How could the performance have been better?
She had crappy material to start with, so she did the best she could.
What character would you cut from Depraved Heart?
The writer.
Any additional comments?
I can't believe this is the same author I fell in love with all those decades ago. I'm going to have to go back and reread the early books -- maybe I just had no judgement back then -- but this book was actually among the worst books I've ever read.
I actually yelled at it during the narration -- begged it to get somewhere.
I'm so disappointed -- I can't see myself ever spending money on another Scarpetta novel and that is such a shame. I have fond memories of reading these new characters back in the beginning -- and now it is just torture.

Historia
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.
