Historia
This is a story about a woman who came to be known as The Horse Queen. She owned hundreds of champion quarter horses on her ranch outside the small city of Dixon, Illinois. And she was also Dixon’s treasurer/comptroller. Yet no one ever thought to ask how she could afford all of those horses on the salary of a civil servant… until the FBI raided City Hall in 2012 and Rita was arrested. For twenty years, Rita Crundwell worked hard to become the world’s largest and most successful quarter horse breeder… while also becoming America’s most prolific municipal embezzler. great for a beginner
Revisado: 03-23-22
This podcast was ok, I found myself many times just saying, "well obviously" or, "yeah we already know that" or "who doesn't already know that"? "why are you acting like this information is new, when it's been around for hundreds of years and in ingrained in ALL of us"? but I've also been studying quantum physics, unified field theory, the multi verse, Buddhism and Taoism as well as yoga,Qigong, meditation and traditional Chinese medicine for years, so maybe this information is new to some people and would actually help them. I would recommend this podcast to probably about 5th grade to 10th graders, or just people that are more ignorant of the way that the universe works . I found myself getting a little annoyed that I didn't learn anything new really, but I guess it's worth checking out. I did not enjoy the white washing of several cultures and the cultural appropriation buy some of these practitioners, I felt like it should have been more rooted in the people who actually developed these theories, or at least are culturally connected to them, and not just a white Yogi from California. It almost seems like they are trying to make healing and sound therapy, a new exclusive, celebrity based thing. Personally I feel healing should be free since it is available to us from our bodies and things that are freely given such as frequencies in the universe.

Helps us to understand not only Dirty John...
Revisado: 08-11-21
This podcast is excellently produced. I enjoy that Laura Richards is doing the bonus episodes since she is a trained professional in stalking and other coercive control behaviors. This podcast helps you to understand not only Dirty John but any other person, such as Donald Trump, who is a narcissistic psychopath and how they love bomb, attract and penetrate your life. How they will use you, turn on you and try to destroy your life, if you do not do what they want or what they expect from you. Too them people are just pawns to be used for their end game, they have no real emotions other than rage, anger and hatred, as well as self pity and being a victim. The women in this podcast are true heroes! We should be teaching people about narcissistic behavior and coercive control from the young age, so everyone is able to recognize the red flags and stay away from these people. I think that the better we as a society can understand narcissist and their behaviors, the better off we will all be in ending the division, the hatred and the pain that is caused, for the most part unfortunately by childhood trauma. As a survivor of a professionally diagnosed narcissistic sociopath and domestic violence, these are textbook behaviors of an abuser. Definitely need more education and more protection for women and children. Looking forward to more podcasts from AYR Media.

Heartbreaking and informative
Revisado: 06-27-21
Although the subject matter was heartbreaking, I really enjoyed this podcast, the narration was great, the fact that they talked to the family and had real recordings and not actors doing reenactments was wonderful. I still don't understand how Jean and Liberty are not in prison for elderly abuse, hopefully, the laws began to change in every state. A major issue is police and courts just not wanting to do their jobs and instead playing the political games. If you enjoyed this podcast, you may want to check out Stan Lee's World.

Historia
In the 1980s the “male exotic dancers” of Chippendales were everywhere, selling the promise of women’s liberation for the price of a few dollars in a g-string. But behind the powerful mullets, oiled pecs, and non-stop parties lies a much darker story of greed, corruption and murder. Historian Natalia Petrzela exposes one of the great, sordid, unexamined stories in American culture.

only 2 preview episodes, have to listen with Spoti
Revisado: 06-19-21
You have to listen through Spotify, which I hate since it's not streamlined and easy to find the episodes and podcasts you want amid thousands of songs. I don't want to have to download another app. This should not even be on Audible if I can't listen on Audible.

stonishingly irrational ideas are spreading. Covid denial persists in the face of overwhelming evidence. Anti-vaxxers compromise public health. Conspiracy thinking hijacks minds and incites mob violence. Toxic partisanship is cleaving nations, and climate denial has pushed our planet to the brink. Meanwhile, American Nazis march openly in the streets, and Flat Earth theory is back. What the heck is going on? Why is all this happening, and why now? More important, what can we do about it?

I was hoping for an in depth psychological profile
Revisado: 05-23-21
I was hoping for an in depth psychological profile to q anon and Donald Trump's supporters, what exactly is wrong with them, why they do the things that they do, are they evil? Do they have a Mental Disorder? Do they know that they're wrong? Are they just trolling us in real life? Is it greed? Is it racism? I was hoping he had talked to people who either believe in Q ANON and/ or had voted for Trump or both. But they are hardly mentioned. After doing years of research on my own, this book basically just tells me the things that I already know. There's not too much new information, and if you're already an aware person who has done shadow work, has empathy and compassion or asks yourself why you believe or why do the things that you do, you are willing to take a new evidence and change your mind when new evidence found is presented then you probably don't need to read this book. Unfortunately the people that do need to listen to it and learn how to think critically and listen to science/facts probably will never listen to this book. It's like an alcoholic they can't get help until they admit that they have a problem. Ultimately those who have voted for Trump or Q ANON will continue to believe the lies and live in their own altered reality, so we must start with the children. We need to implement critical thinking into schools, using discernment, basically changing the entire model of education that's telling you what is true, and what you need to believe. We need to teach people how to access information, discern what is true/what is real, what is verifiable, and then make judgements as to what is needed. Teaching empathy, sociology, humanities getting in touch with nature, there's so many things that could fix these problems, but until people are willing to make the changes and do the work ourselves in order to be the change we wish to see, many will continue to believe misinformation. Hopefully social media sites will be regulated more and the spread lies/misinformation will be reduced. I returned this book because it offered me no new information, and it's very repetitive, it probably could have been cut down a couple chapters if he took out what he repeated multiple times.

University student Anna Winslow has gone missing. The circumstances of her disappearance are far from ordinary, a fact that only fellow student Melissa Lopez appears to appreciate. Motivated by an unexplained and disturbing voicemail message from Anna on the night of her disappearance, Melissa's curiosity quickly turns into a deeper investigation, an obsession even, which she chronicles as a regular podcast - the very recordings that you are about to listen to.

Drawing from her work as a psychoanalyst and cantadora (keeper of old stories), Dr. Estes uses myths and folktales to illustrate how societies systematically strip away the feminine spirit. Through an exploration into the nature of the wild woman archetype, Dr. Estes helps listeners rediscover and free their own wild nature.

Not the full book, feel a bit mislead
Revisado: 05-27-20
This is a great book, however this audio book is NOT the FULL book. It's more a cliff notes version. Told by the author so it's very informative and entertaining. I own both the hardback and Kindle version of this book and many parts are missing. I would recommend buying the book if you really want to dive deep.

[Contains explicit content] Every mammal has mammary glands, but only humans have permanent, rounded, full-on breasts. Why? What are breasts really for, anyway? The answers matter, because they influence how we see each other and see ourselves. In this episode, Florence Williams climbs the largest breasts in the world (they’re in England) and talks to Oxford’s Desmond Morris, author of the classic book, The Naked Ape.
