Prosperity. It's one of the most dividing words in the church. Some pastors use it to tell their congregations that God will make them all rich, rich, rich! Others spurn the word and insist that true Christlikeness is found in forsaking all worldly riches and possessions. The truth is, both are right - and both are wrong. With refreshing honesty, humor, and keen insight, best-selling author and pastor Kris Vallotton mines the Scriptures in an eye-opening study of what the Bible really says about money, poverty, riches, and wealth.

Will stretch the reader but worth it.

I wasn’t fully sure what information I was trying to gleam from this book when I picked it up. I did know I wanted to change how I approached life and that this book had been recommended.
Vallotton has blunt and abrasive way of communicating. Combine that with a topic most Christian’s disagree with and you have a book that will stretch you and bring to awareness your thoughts and feelings on the same topic. I think this is a good thing because then you have an opportunity to really see if you want to keep your beliefs or accept some of his. Growth is good and works best when you are aware of your own tinted glasses.
I found his examples regarding business to be practical. He makes it easy to see how to be a Christian and a business person at the same time. I enjoyed listening to him recount situations were he asked Gods wisdom for his business decisions.
I would definitely recommend this book. I think it would be a great one to have a hard copy of because there are several concepts that would be nice to go back to, reread and put into practice. Will be listening to it again.

By ancient definition, the adamant was known as both a diamond and a mythical stone of indestructible wonder. In more modern terminology, it describes a posture of unshakeable resolve and determination. If there was ever a time for us to be adamant about love and truth it is now. God is love. God is truth. Both love and truth are timeless, transcending our current trends and opinions. Sometimes the most loving thing we will ever do is to speak the truth, but speaking truth begins with living it.

Really enjoyed listening to this. Sad it’s done. My favorite chapter was the last one. Loved the breakdown of the word adamant
