Historia
Lennon Wells and Beckham Sullivan should have been perfect for each other. Both vulnerable, both striving to please difficult families, and both broken by the past. Going from friends to lovers seemed inevitable. So did a bad ending. They thought—they hoped—they’d never see each other again. Years later, bad luck or fate, Lennon and Beckham find themselves working for the same magazine. The wounds are still raw, but the chemistry is there. Then they’re forced to work together on a project.

It’s fine
Revisado: 10-06-24
I’m not a fan of the narrators of this. The female voice had some weird inflection at times. These books don’t usually get more than 3 stars from me. Cute for what it is, but not ground breaking and if you ask me next month i probably won’t be able to give a synopsis.

The narrator was great
Revisado: 03-31-24
The narrator did very well with the accents. It’s hard to squeeze in a whole love story into a novella and this was done fine. Not great. This series has offered more with other books.

Historia
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them. With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success.

Very well done
Revisado: 12-28-23
This is a very well done audio adaptation of the first part of the book. My only complaint is that Tairn and Kaori’s voices should be swapped. I haven’t heard a good Tairn voice yet.

Historia
Rare-book dealer Ashlyn Greer’s affinity for books extends beyond the intoxicating scent of old paper, ink, and leather. She can feel the echoes of the books’ previous owners—an emotional fingerprint only she can read. When Ashlyn discovers a pair of beautifully bound volumes that appear to have never been published, her gift quickly becomes an obsession. Not only is each inscribed with a startling incrimination, but the authors, Hemi and Belle, tell conflicting sides of a tragic romance.

Poor narration
Revisado: 09-03-23
Why do female narrators always make male characters sound like goobers? This is a 29 year old man sounding like he should be spitting dad jokes in an apron flipping burgers on the grill. I didn’t like the story really but add the tragic narration and I’m done.

Jewel is not a therapist
Revisado: 07-08-23
This was Jewel’s beautiful story read by herself and I loved that so much. As a fan of her music, I enjoyed hearing about her processes and how she made it in her career. But there are a lot of “look inside yourself” advices in this and it can easily be misconstrued as doing that instead of seeking actual professional help. These are her ways of healing and coping but shouldn’t be the only thing people with real mental health issues and trauma should seek as help.
I enjoyed it over all.

Historia
When poet and writer Joy Davidman began writing letters to C. S. Lewis - known as Jack - she was looking for spiritual answers, not love. Love, after all, wasn’t holding together her crumbling marriage. Everything about New Yorker Joy seemed ill-matched for an Oxford professor and the beloved writer of The Chronicles of Narnia, yet their minds bonded over their letters.

Revisado: 02-27-23
I didn’t like this at all. The author uses very flowery language that was too much for me. I don’t know how true it all is, but it’s a slog to read and listen to. The narrator has no inflection in her voice. Why did I force myself to finish this?

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Historia
The Vanderbeekers have always lived in the brownstone on 141st Street. It's practically another member of the family. So when their reclusive, curmudgeonly landlord decides not to renew their lease, the five siblings have 11 days to do whatever it takes to stay in their beloved home and convince the dreaded Beiderman just how wonderful they are. And all is fair in love and war when it comes to keeping their home. A modern classic in the making reminiscent of the Penderwicks series.

I put this book down in the middle and came back to it several weeks later. I learned a lot from the author's time in the lab. I was stunned by her pregnancy stories. I love her relationship with Bill. This book touched on all the emotions. Very good.

Revisado: 08-31-16
This book was a difficult read due to its graphic nature. I'm glad I chose to listen to it. The characters and events are very well researched, and the author deserves all the accolades for that. A must read for true WWII enthusiasts for sure.
