Historia
In the early 18th century, the Pirate Republic was home to some of the great pirate captains, including Blackbeard, "Black Sam" Bellamy, and Charles Vane. Along with their fellow pirates - former sailors, indentured servants, and runaway slaves - this "Flying Gang" established a crude but distinctive democracy in the Bahamas, carving out their own zone of freedom in which servants were free, Blacks could be equal citizens, and leaders were chosen or deposed by a vote.

Good read!

Very educational and entertaining. Non-fiction that reads like a good novel. Fills in much of the true story presented in 'Black Sails".

Historia
In an age where pleasing people, puffing up your ego and building your résumé are seen as the methods to 'make it', the Apostle Paul calls us to find true rest in blessed self-forgetfulness. This audiobook shows that gospel-humility means we can stop connecting every experience, every conversation with ourselves and can thus be free from self-condemnation. A truly gospel-humble person is not a self-hating person or a self-loving person, but a self-forgetful person. This freedom can be yours.

Absolutely loved this book. I think this is the answer to many challenges. It is not about us. It is about God!

Historia
From the "Trail of Tears" to Wounded Knee and Little Bighorn, the narrative of American history is incomplete without the inclusion of the Native Americans that lived on the continent before European settlers arrived in the 16th and 17th centuries. Since the first contact between natives and settlers, tribes like the Sioux, Cherokee, and Navajo have both fascinated and perplexed outsiders with their history, language, and culture.

Fascinating topic but very badly narrated. The book has little useful information but the narrator spoils even that.

Historia
Millions of Christians have struggled with how to reconcile God's love and God's judgment: Has God created billions of people over thousands of years only to select a few to go to heaven and everyone else to suffer forever in hell? Is this acceptable to God? How is this "good news"? Author, pastor, and innovative teacher Rob Bell presents a deeply biblical vision for rediscovering a richer, grander, truer, and more spiritually satisfying way of understanding heaven, hell, God, Jesus, salvation, and repentance.

Many Christians Should Read this Book
Revisado: 12-12-11
If you could sum up Love Wins in three words, what would they be?
This is very thought provoking book. I am not sure everything he says is right, but I don't think any preacher or teacher or denomination has every gotten it all right either. It does refocus us on Jesus. Too often we do things a certain way because it is the way we have always seen them done, without any regard to what Jesus actually said. Often we let tradition get in the way of the truth. Bell strips a lot of that away. Jesus is the one who counts. Everything else is just fluff and window dressing.
Have you listened to any of Rob Bell???s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Bell is a great author but is not a professional narrator. It shows.
Any additional comments?
Great listen.
