Historia
The hour is critical. The American republic is suffering its gravest crisis since the Civil War. Conflicts, hostility, and incivility now threaten to tear the country apart. Competing visions have led to a dangerous moment of cultural self-destruction. This is no longer politics as usual, but an era of political warfare where our enemies are not foreign adversaries, but our fellow citizens. Yet the roots of the crisis are deeper than many realize. Os Guinness argues that we face a fundamental crisis of freedom, as America's genius for freedom has become her Achilles' heel.

Thought Provoking Work On Liberty In America
Revisado: 05-28-19
This book is well worth the listen. It asks many important questions that most in American society (myself included) currently fail to think deeply about. Additionally, it certainly challenged me to make sure I understand the lineage and philosophical underpinnings of the current major lines of political and social thought driving the atmosphere of the moment. Highly recommended.

A Very Good Framework for Thinking About Business And Investment
Revisado: 05-23-18
Howard Marks is among the most prolific investors alive today. This book illuminates why. He has developed a mental framework that allows him to grapple with the hard-to-quantify aspects of investing that make all the difference in consistent, long-term performance. I’ll tip my hat to him and grant him what he hoped for. I found myself saying on several occasions, “I never thought of it exactly that way.” This is a great read for any investor or business owner as the decision sets required of the two do not vary greatly in my experience. Appreciate his effort in sharing his insights!

Historia
The Scottish-born son of a failed weaver and a mother who supported the family by binding shoes, Andrew Carnegie was the embodiment of the American dream. In his rise from a job as a bobbin boy in a cotton factory to being the richest man in the world, he was single-minded, relentless and a major player in some of the most violent and notorious labor strikes of the time. The prototype of today's billionaire, he was a visionary in the way he earned his money and in the way he gave it away.

Great Account of Carnegie’s Life
Revisado: 04-19-18
While the book doesn’t delve deeply into the details of the business strategies Carnegie employed at Carnegie Steel, it misses little else. By the time you are finished, you’ll feel as if you knew him personally and the time will be well spent!
