Classic story, epic performance.
Revisado: 12-05-22
While the story is not that creative. The story telling really brings this to life. Super high production value. I really liked all the voice actors and they accents. Added a depth of complexity to the story. Listened to this in one shot. And would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the fantasy genre.
A note to those that are complaining about the sounds and sound quality. It's you. Not the book. The sound quality, sound effects, and tactics used to emerse us into this story. We're nothing less than terrific!

For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare--poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

I knew going in that I was going to love this book. Within the first minute Goggins had me. This is a great story by a great man. Truly unique! I felt like the story was coming from an authentic dude. I love that he's a beast among men. We need more men to lead the way like Goggins. David, if you're reading this.. If you're up for a real challenge get my fat ass across the finish line if a 50k. Then you are the leader you set out to be.

She said this was a book for Girls. Um NO its not!
Revisado: 02-21-22
A friend recommended this book to me, with the preface. "I read girl books". Every bit of my masculine male self loved this book. Sara Maas really has something great here. The story within the story of self sacrifice, and the willingness to giveup what she wants for the sake of others. Its really compelling. The fantasy, action, drama, and steamy scenes are no less great. But the underlying story of the main character is the draw for me. Very strong book, Very VERY strong performance. 10/10 will listen to the entire series.

Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Maud'dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

Revisado: 02-15-22
What a story. The details and forward thinking of the author are really incredible. The only thing worth noting is using more than one voice actor for Vladimir Harkin and other notable characters was strange and ruined continuity. I have never seen this done in any other audio books.

Not really my favorite bean
Revisado: 06-09-20
I have read all of the Enders game books. Which got me excited for this take on the same story. The character development until he got to battle school was amazing. Had me completely excited. Why Orson decided to make Ender seem completely inept in this book is confusing. When you know just how rediculously brilliant Ender is and Bean being super smart as well. But I don't think this story does any thing to add to the Ender universe.

The Sound and the Fury is the tragedy of the Compson family, featuring some of the most memorable characters in literature: beautiful, rebellious Caddy; the manchild Benjy; haunted, neurotic Quentin; Jason, the brutal cynic; and Dilsey, their black servant. Their lives fragmented and harrowed by history and legacy, the character’s voices and actions mesh to create what is arguably Faulkner’s masterpiece and one of the greatest novels of the twentieth century.

Grover Gardner's Voice/Acting is awful.
Revisado: 09-18-16
Would you try another book from William Faulkner and/or Grover Gardner?
NEVER!
What was most disappointing about William Faulkner’s story?
Grover Gardners voice is like nails on a chalk board. I heard him doing backup narration on another book. Same voice, character, from a Faulkner book to a Star Wars book. Identical and completely pulled me out of what I considered a very good performance.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Grover Gardner?
Someone who is capable of reading a book without making it sound like they are not reading a book. Also someone who is capable of doing more than one voice and accent. All male and female voices/accents/inflection are identical.
Any additional comments?
If this were my first impression of a Faulkner book I would be very reluctant to buy another book authored by an author who is considered amazing.

As the Empire reels from its critical defeats at the Battle of Endor, the Rebel Alliance—now a fledgling New Republic—presses its advantage by hunting down the enemy’s scattered forces before they can regroup and retaliate. But above the remote planet Akiva, an ominous show of the enemy’s strength is unfolding. Out on a lone reconnaissance mission, pilot Wedge Antilles watches Imperial Star Destroyers gather like birds of prey circling for a kill, but he’s taken captive before he can report back to the New Republic leaders.

Where does Aftermath: Star Wars rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

What three words best describe Marc Thompson’s performance?
Marc Thompson did great. I was fully involved. However backup narration is done by Grover Gardner. His voice is like nails on a chalkboard for me. I wish I could filter out any book he is involved with.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
A story about nothing particularly important to the continuation of the Star Wars saga.
Any additional comments?

Historia
The Old Man and the Sea is one of Hemingway's most enduring works. Told in language of great simplicity and power, it is the story of an old Cuban fisherman, down on his luck, and his supreme ordeal, a relentless, agonizing battle with a giant marlin far out in the Gulf Stream. Here Hemingway recasts, in strikingly contemporary style, the classic theme of courage in the face of defeat, of personal triumph won from loss.

Revisado: 01-07-16
I don't think I have ever enjoyed an author as much as Hemingway! The story was engaging and well written. there were moments I was seriously concerned about the main character. I mean concerned the way you would be for a close friend. I was fully enjoying the character development. Also the voice actor was so smooth and accurate. I was very sad when something happened to some of the side characters because I liked their voices so much. .
bravo!
