Lame chick. Lame dude. Mid story. I’m usually a fan of Emily Henry. I like her slower burns. But this one is not my favorite. It feels like a formulaic book I would expect to be in the free library of audible.

I got a thousand recommendations to listen to this book. It is okay. There is nothing groundbreaking here. I would check it out of the library and be happy but I wouldn’t waste a credit on it. I’m not sure what all the fuss is about. It’s “quirky” and trying to be sardonic but 2.5 out of 5 all day. Sorry.

“She said” “I called” I like the readers. But this wasn’t great audiobook material. It was distracting from the story that there were clarifications on every bit of dialogue.

This book was okay. I'm not sad I spent a credit on it. I laughed out loud a couple times but overall, 2.5/5. This story was very mid. Julia Whelan is always A++ but even she couldn't save the weak, rich doctor who can't do anything on her own. The dude is a simp and I just couldn't get it up for their alleged chemistry. There are some definitely good things in the book. But the shallow friends are toooo shallow. The overbearing parents were toooo much and very 2D. I like this author. This was entertaining. Normally when I spend a credit, I want to listen over and over. This was a one time listen for me.

Refreshing to hear something different.

The good: this is a really quirky, refreshing story. The audiobook editing was weird at first because I usually like single reader but the editing is so good and artful that I ended up loving the narration and the way it was put together. The male narrator had a very charming voice and I could have listened to him read a telephone book. The woman was really good.
The eh: the sex was a lot. Not to kink shame but there were so many piercings that it was distracting. The sex scenes could have been edited down a bit. I was blushing on the bus and looking around to make sure no one could hear what I was listening to.
Overall, it was good. I liked this. Look forward to seeing what else this author does in the future.

Great narration as always. About a very depressed woman.

I related a lot to this material having been through similar things. Love this narrator in everything I’ve listened to her in, I am actually working through all her work, that is why I bought this. I actually laughed out loud quite a few times. This neurotic story. I went through a vhs phase, watching the same movies over and over and over. They were my best friends. This was good. Thank you.

Darker than expected.

Very good. Not what I expected. I thought this would be more vapid which is what I thought I needed but it was great. Listened to it in one day. That’s saying a lot.
