Not much better
Revisado: 06-28-24
I am extremely disappointed by the fact that the scene where Callum has the dream was written so poorly. The actual episode where it happened in the show is my favorite because it was massively important to the whole show’s plot, as we get to see Callum’s thoughts on dark magic and links to seasons 5&6.
But in the book they completely butchered the scene and it sounds more like a retell than any part of the 2 books. There is like 99% less symbolism, mood, pace, talking about Callum’s thoughts etc.
Really don’t buy this audiobook and just watch the show which is 100x better

Interesting read
Revisado: 06-28-24
This is by far my favorite book in the 3 rd series of Deltora Quest. I love the concept of the Masked ones and as always the are thrilling plot twists. But I feel like narrator colud have done a better job narrating the part where lief loses jasmine. There wasn’t much emotion in his voice and so I kind of missed the part the first time.
I will recommend to people at least to older than 10 because there is lots of blood, death and manipulation.
Btw the masked ones are kind of like evil furries

Overated
Revisado: 06-28-24
The majority of reviews for this audio book are completely focused on yapping about the book and how good is and why you should read it right now etc etc. while I do agree that the Netflix show ‘The Dragon Prince’ is definitely worth a look, I cannot say the same for its book adaptation.
As most who have watched ‘the dragon prince’ before will agree, the storyline is complex, the character development is incredible, and there are layers upon layers of storytelling methods happening within the show. A book adaptation simply can not do the same thing sometimes, with its lack of camera angles, music and so on. But with a good author, it can paint a picture just as bright.
However, the writing of this book is disappointing, to say the least. Though with a good few hundred pages of story, most of it is marred by the constant bad writing. The author uses uncreative description (lack of similes/metaphors), skips through writing techniques I learnt in year 3 (overused the word said) and describes the emotional feelings of characters in a really cringe way that makes me want to skip ahead. Even I, a 11 year old girl will often be able to identify many flaws in the writing. Having read other books targeted at this age level (Day of the Whale, Percy Jackson), I can see there is a massive difference between the levels of writing.
If I had been introduced to The Dragon Prince :Moon before I watched the show, i would have stayed as far away from it as possible in the future. From other reviews I have seen online, many agree. I feel like this book is more suited for people who are part of the fandom already than newbies.
Some ppl in the reviews section are hyped about the extra tidbits on the characters, but most of it isn’t important to the plot or can easily be deduced without the book.
If you think I’m just a stupid kid posting their own garbage online, think again. My school teaches in grade 6 once assigned us to analyze the character Callum from the Dragon Prince SHOW, not the BOOK. And that’s probably for a reason.
I
Thumbs up for the narrator though. He did an amazing job voicing each of these characters just like from the show.
And one thing I did like about the writing was the insights into Virens mind.
2.5 stars overall
Also why does the reader’s perspective keep changing? It’s Callum! No, it’s Rayla! No, it’s Callum again! I would like it more if the perspective changed every scene or something, not every two paragraphs.
3 stars 🌟⭐️⭐️

Entertaining
Revisado: 06-28-24
Super engaging writing style that really makes you empathize with the characters. The story about Orpheus was really sad, I almost cried 😢. Lots of funny jokes and the occasional opinion from Percy who is ‘narrating’ the story. Amazing retelling of Greek myths. My only issue is that the voice they chose for Theseus makes him sound like a dumb gorilla and makes his story hard to enjoy. Otherwise it’s 5 stars. ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
P.S: I would recommend this book for older readers (at least 10) because there is some mildly inappropriate content

I like peril
Revisado: 04-07-24
I like peril she is a cool character and she’s gone through a lot. Like even after the war ended and she didn’t have to be abused by Scarlett anymore everyone still feared her for something that she couldn’t change. And because of her treatment by Scarlett she has a warped sense of right and wrong, so she’s still trying to adapt. Luckily she still has Clay.
