Historia
Ruby has a problem… …and it’s more than her pet dragon and hunky boyfriend can help her solve. Six months ago, she discovered she was a witch. Great huh? But with magic comes trouble, especially living in a (mostly) unmagical world. Ruby’s magic makes her a homing beacon for all magical creatures. They come to her—sometimes in the middle of her college lectures—asking for help to be returned home. Most of these creatures mean no harm, but when a witch with more magical skill than Ruby hunts her down, trying to rid magic from this realm, Ruby turns to her friends for help. ...

TSTL

Even as a free read I’m returning this because the lead female character is so annoyingly TSTL. The computer generated voice reading the story does a half decent job.

Historia
In December 2017 the famous porn star August Ames committed suicide in a park in the Conejo Valley. It happened a day after she’d been the victim of a pile-on, via Twitter, by fellow porn professionals - punishment for her tweeting something deemed homophobic. A month later, August’s husband, Kevin, connected with Jon Ronson to tell the story of how Twitter bullying killed his wife. What neither Kevin nor Ronson realized was that Ronson would soon hear rumors and secrets hinting at a very different story - something mysterious and unexpected and terrible.

Well done.

When I first joined Twitter August Ames was one of the first accounts I followed. In fact, at first I didn’t know she was in porn, only that she was funny and flirty with an earthy reality many personalities lose when they gain the check mark. Sadly, I was also online the day of the blowup and didn’t understand the anger generated. But then that’s life on social media, tempests in teacups. Lone voices getting washed away by masses. I’m so glad to have this, to have heard that she was more and stronger than what was insinuated after her death. The author/narrator did her proud.
