I had trouble with the narrator's strong accent at first, but the story was that good that I persevered, better even, after a while, I could appreciate the narrator's rendition of the story very much. What a debut!

Sorry for disturbing the party... but what plot turns and twists? I've been waiting for more than 10 hours for something to happen, but apparently in vain. Very disappointing story - I fail to understand why everyone is so raving about it. And this is the book that turns 'Gone Girl' into child's play? Seriously?

What disappointed you about The Melody Lingers On?
Poor one dimensional characters, all very predictable, worthless story, Higgins didn't forget one single cliché, especially at the end of this ridiculous 'plot'. I felt like the author treated me as a retarded child, who needs to get things explained again and again. I didn't know it was still allowed to write stories like this.
Would you ever listen to anything by Mary Higgins Clark again?

I continued listening to the book because, in a way, it's interesting to get a clearer idea of what makes a book worthless.
