Great story
Revisado: 11-22-16
I enjoyed the story, Riordan's writing style is unmatched. My only qualm is that that main characters are children, though honestly, what did I expect? The historical facts are a highlight for me. The real world Di Vinci code-esque conspiracy with elements of scavenger hunt, ties it all together.

Historia
When fifteen-year-old Eragon finds a polished blue stone in the forest, he thinks it is the lucky discovery of a poor farm boy. But when the stone brings a dragon hatchling, Eragon soon realizes he has stumbled upon a legacy nearly as old as the Empire itself. Overnight his simple life is shattered, and, gifted with only an ancient sword, a loyal dragon, and sage advice from an old storyteller, Eragon is soon swept into a dangerous tapestry of magic, glory, and power. Now his choices could save—or destroy—the Empire.

Honestly: Good Story,

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Definitely, I would recommend this tome.
Who was your favorite character and why?
My favorite Character is the elfen princess, Arya. Her personality is quite regal. Though her speech is archaic in places, she does not mince words. She is wise and modest. Her use of language and magick both are unparalleled.
What does Gerard Doyle bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The words of Gerard Doyle bring the element of masculinity to the story. Hearing the book read aloud gives a sense of power and solidity to the book. Hopefully the next book will be as good.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Yes.
Any additional comments?
This story is full of trust and glory, redemption and under-covering the Hero's true quest. Many hints of Joseph Cambell's hero's journey can be seen throughout the tale. In his escape from the empire, will Eragon find a way to control his new magick? Can his dragon help him along the way offering sage advice while existing as the only dragon remaining in all of Alagaesia? I believe this story to be a powerful narrative full of magic, whimsical adventurousness, and the careful growth transition from boy to man.
