The narrator uses the same robotic voice for every male character with the same cadence that makes all of them sound like a bored, slow 90 year old man. It detracts from the story

Don't waste your time with the book

The author wasted way too much time and effort with esoteric, philosophical and intellectual sounding rhetoric that contributed nothing to either story line or character development. I watched The new TV series and thought it was much better and the book on that because it didn't hold to the storyline developed a much more meaningful overall story. This is one of the first times I've ever seen The movie outperform the book.
