This book was difficult to listen to because it's depressing that women, especially those of color, have been stripped of the right to women's health care. The author used real accounts of how devastating it is for real individuals. And it shows why the religious right and politicians need to quit dictating what THEY deem appropriate for women's health care.

Sobriety

The book is well written and heartfelt. Rob Lowe's book is worth reading, or as I did, listen to it on Audible books, especially if you have struggled with addiction. His journey to sobriety, going to a recovery center, and AA are exactly the same experiences and emotions I went through myself. His trepidation upon leaving the recovery center and applying the knowledge learned expresses the exact way I felt when I exited the program. I have 17 years of sobriety. Thank you, Rob Lowe. I wish you all the best.

Another Homerun

I was wondering how the author was to end the book,he made it thrilling and somber at the same time, Another audible book by DeMille that kept me on the edge of my seat and intrigued. Loved the narrator; I'm certainly glad the author continues to have him read.

The narrator brought this book to life; he is a great storyteller. The characters were likeable and complex. The author did a great job connecting the two books and bringing them together after ten years without being redundant.

A Blending of two Cultures

This is the kind of book you do not want to end. It was a glimpse into two different ways of life in America going by the wayside. An the clashing of the two different ways of life, the privileges rich and the mafia. The main characters were likeable and at the same time flawed.
The narrator brought the characters to life and is one of the best narrators I have ever heard. I especially liked how he portrayed the don.

Heart Stopping

Well written court yarn dealing with medical malpractice. The characters are likeable & well developed. Lots of twists and turns, I truly could not guess the trial's outcome. But my advice to others never read this book just before going to the cardiologist like I did, all I could do was think of this book. I truly cannot wait until I read the next book in his series.

Moving read

The narrator of this moving brought it to life. The book is a most moving and realistic book about the dangerous, harrowing and difficult trip to the United States for people escaping cartels and others coming to America to seek a better life. It brings to light the cruel, shameful and heartless American government policy regarding immigrants. It is a must read, the characters are realistic; they made me laugh at times and cry and it shows people who triumph over adversity.
