Historia
A millennium into the future, two advancements have altered the course of human history: the colonization of the Galaxy and the creation of the positronic brain. On the beautiful Outer World planet of Solaria, a handful of human colonists lead a hermit-like existence, their every need attended to by their faithful robot servants. To this strange and provocative planet comes Detective Elijah Baley, sent from the streets of New York with his positronic partner, the robot R. Daneel Olivaw, to solve an incredible murder that has rocked Solaria to its foundations.

A 1950’s Space Tail that reads like a 1950’s Space Tail.
Revisado: 05-09-22
A very dated story that hasn’t aged well.Even the narration sounds like it’s from a long past era. Not one of his better works.

Well it sure ain’t Asimov
Revisado: 04-28-22
First off this book was a gift, I only completed it because..well I kept hoping that it would get better..well it didn’t. It has plot holes as wide as the galaxy. And it’s pretty much a rolling cliché. The writer seemed to delight in describing deaths in what I can only describe as gross detail. It’s more of a horror story than a sci-fi tome. So if you like gory horror stories this book is for you. If you’re looking for a good sci-fi listen look elsewhere.

Richard Dolan's UFOs and the National Security State (Volume 1) has become a classic work of UFO history, a must for all students of this often confusing subject - or simply for those who want a deeper understanding of a key part of 20th-century history. This is the first volume of a two-part detailed chronological narrative of the national security dimensions of the UFO phenomenon from 1941 to the present.

A thoroughly enlightening and entertaining book
Revisado: 11-30-21
This book was a fun and informative listen. Although some of the information was repeated throughout the book, there was a lot of new information presented. I am hoping that there will be a followup book. My only complaint is with the “Narrator”, although he seemed to be quite enthusiastic about the material which he was presenting, he read it at quite a quick pace, more of a “jog” through the material than a nice “stroll”, this caused me to rewind on several occasions to make sure of what he just said. And his mispronunciation of some historic names such as the former V.P. of the U.S.A.“SPYRO” instead of Spiro, or locations such as the lake/reservoir in New Jersey gave a minute to pause, and when he kept pronouncing N.I.C.A.P. By each letter throughout his narration until chapter seven, when he suddenly declared that from that point on he was going to pronounce it as “NYCAP” I wondered what took him so long, and why the change at that point. Other than those minor “nits” it was quite a good listen and I’d recommend this book to anyone with an interest in this subject.

Historia
Beyond the edge of the galaxy lies the Unknown Regions: chaotic, uncharted, and near impassable, with hidden secrets and dangers in equal measure. And nestled within its swirling chaos is the Ascendancy, home to the enigmatic Chiss and the Nine Ruling Families that lead them. The peace of the Ascendancy, a beacon of calm and stability, is shattered after a daring attack on the Chiss capital that leaves no trace of the enemy.

More of an “Audio Play”
Revisado: 04-07-21
Well the first thing that a prospective listener of this book should know is that it’s more of an audio play ,in that instead of a narrator immersing you into the story with their voice alone. You get not only the narrator but a cacophony of background sound, that distracts you from the story. One in particular is the droning rumble which I can only assume is meant to replicate the sound of the ships engines in space. the second thing is the actors’ attempt at replicating the child’s voice, you’ll know it when you hear it, but it comes across if not quite grating but close enough to make you cringe during those parts of the book. Also As I’ve read several of the “Thrawn” based books I’ve kind of come to expect them to be the “adult version” of the Star Wars Universe sort of like the “Mandalorian” . Instead this book reads more like a young teen adventure, maybe that’s the “Disney” influence either way the writer could have skipped the whole Skywalker storyline as it comes across as a bit too juvenile for the mature reader or listener. Other than those minor nits, It was a fairly enjoyable listen.

Historia
Written with bracing wit and intelligence, Rachel Maddow's Drift argues that we've drifted away from America's original ideals and become a nation weirdly at peace with perpetual war, with all the financial and human costs that entails. To understand how we've arrived at such a dangerous place, Maddow takes us from the Vietnam War to today's war in Afghanistan.

If you could sum up Drift in three words, what would they be?
Interesting Engrossing Scary
What did you like best about this story?
It was a subject that hasn't been spoken about in somtime
What aspect of Rachel Maddow’s performance would you have changed?
She could slow down on the narration a bit, and check her facts about the terminology that was used.
If you could give Drift a new subtitle, what would it be?
A true tail of wagging the dog, or how America’s Military was defeated, and taken over by the private sector with nary a drop of blood spilled!
