Historia
As they recount the events surrounding the disappearance of their toddler—one with a tendency to bite—two parents cope with grief in vastly different ways. While the father wrestles with feelings of guilt, the mother is convinced she’s spotted the boy in frightening TV news reports...though let’s just say he looks nothing like the precocious little boy they remember from a decade ago.

So odd. Bizarre. Barely worth the listen. Definitely good that it was free. I would say, don’t bother.

Pretty awful
Revisado: 04-28-22
I am a fan of and usually have a high tolerance for any post-apocalypse zombie story but this one is not worth the time. Poorly written and quite ridiculous
And the supposed tier one operators cannot make head shots and often forget they have side arms. Character development is nonexistent, plot ridiculous. I would recommend avoiding this book despite the very long run time for just one credit.

awful
Revisado: 02-17-22
the boxed set is a lot of content for one credit but the story is ridiculous even by super-apocalypse/zombie genre standards.
ludicrous that a heavily armed Delta team would somehow fail to put down a few zombies with headshots in the first couple of chapters. Character development none existent. Dialog absurd.
the narration is terrible varies from a monotone to this odd infection at the end of sentences. Oh my.
I would recommend-- don't bother.
There are many other stories in this vein that are much better. Any of the Joe Ledger novels, The Arisen series as well. Both with great narrators.

a bit weak

Seemed ok at first but the story got less and less plausible. The genre has much better examples. Mountain Man or After it Happened both stronger overall.

The first book in this series had some promise and was ok. This one a big disappointment. I was hopeful for a new character in the Jack Reacher, Mitch Rapp, Evan Smoake super solo hero vein but ALAS.

Jed Walker is slipping
Revisado: 10-03-18
I did enjoy the first two books of the Jed Walker series, not as much the third, but this one is truly awful and not worth it. Even for a Jedi Walker thriller, the plot is ludicrous. Skip this one for sure.

big Longmire fan, this one not so much
Revisado: 09-09-18
This book does not measure up to the others. The plot feels odd and full of holes.
How is it that Henry would not come on this adventure to Mexico?
Where is Vic?
The only redeeming feature is George Guidall's steady, familiar narration.

Historia
The survivors have come to settle in the mountains of Wyoming, fighting day in and day out to establish a home for themselves in a near-empty world. Things are good at first; scavenging is a workable, short-term solution that seems to be providing all they need. But they know that it’s only a matter of time before the food runs out. They need to scramble to find a sustainable solution before the clock stops, and for a little handful of people up in the mountains, the odds don’t seem very favorable.
