Historia
Virgil's always been known for having a somewhat active, er, social life, but he's probably not going to be getting too many opportunities for that during his new case. While competing in a fishing tournament in a remote area of northern Minnesota, he gets a call from Lucas Davenport to investigate a murder at a nearby resort.

Another good Sandford novel
Revisado: 12-31-12
I love the Prey books and now I look forward to the Virgil Flowers novels. Sandford mixes in just enough personal stuff without overdoing it. His descriptive talents bring the scenes alive and, again, without overdoing it. This was hard to put down and Eric Conger's narration is among the best.

a good one!
Revisado: 03-26-08
I enjoy almost all of Robert B Parker's books, I enjoy Joe Mantegna's narration and the 'saids' are just a part of Parker's writing style that I've grown to love. Thoroughly enjoyed the story, the characters and the narration.

Historia
In 1989 Ken Follett astonished the literary world with The Pillars of the Earth, set in 12th-century England. Readers and listeners ever since have hoped for a sequel. At last, here it is. Although the two novels may be listened to in any order, World Without End also takes place in Kingsbridge, two centuries after the townspeople finished building their exquisite Gothic cathedral. The cathedral is again at the center of a web of love and hate, greed and pride, ambition and revenge.

Well worth the time
Revisado: 01-27-08
This was a long book and therefore I consider it a tribute to the author’s storytelling ability that I was involved throughout. I also love books that bring history alive through the lives of ordinary people and this he does so well. Combined with John Lee’s excellent narration, it was well worth the commitment.

Scott Turow has written a supercharged, exquisitely suspenseful novel about a vicious triple murder and the man condemned to die for it. No other writer offers such a profound understanding of what is at stake when the state holds the power to end a man's life.

Loved it!
Revisado: 11-01-07
Loved the book. In many books, I often wish there was less of the characters' personal lives but not this time. I was interested in every bit. And I figure a narrator is very good when I don't hear him but hear the characters and they come to life. Well done!

can't finish it

sadly, I can't get past the reader who swallows too loudly and whose narration is too plodding.
