Almost no information in this book

summary: Tongues can be tied - it might cause problems, it might not.
Extremely repetitive about potential problems for breast feeding. I chose the book because it was in my dentist's office and my wait was too brief to actually read it.
I learned absolutely nothing from this book and can't return it.

Historia
Why Planes Crash offers an exciting and compelling look at the critical moments which define an aviation accident, explaining both the how and the why of catastrophic accidents in modern times. From disintegrating airliners to in-flight suicide to maintenance shortcuts, the author looks critically into each factor that might have lead to the crash. Her investigations and deep insight aim to make the listener into a witness to the investigation, and, yet, it is comprehensive enough for anyone with no aviation knowledge to understand.

Good points, but I heard them the first time...
Revisado: 09-13-17
Would you try another book from Dr. Jason Fung and/or Brian Nishii?
This was the most redundant book I have ever listened to. It must have been produced by the Department of Redundancy Department. It was unbelievable how many times the statements and examples were repeated. Repetition risks burying helpful information, and this detracted from the book.
Brian's delivery helped me get through the book. I would listen to more books performed by Brian Nishii.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
This book could have been less than an hour long. Perhaps a single blog post of useful information.

Historia
The dead talk - to the right listener. They can tell us all about themselves: where they came from, how they lived, how they died, and, of course, who killed them. Forensic scientists can unlock the mysteries of the past and help serve justice using the messages left by a corpse, a crime scene, or the faintest of human traces.

Excellent book!
Revisado: 07-26-16
What did you love best about Forensics?
The history of forensic technique development was intertwined with personalized stories of what motivated someone to refine the technique.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
The various American accents were terrible, obnoxious and did not make sense in most of the cases. For example, why would anyone use a valley girl type American accent to represent a British man's quote? If I were quoted using any of the examples, I would have been personally offended.
Poor use of accents distances a listener from the characters. As as soon as the listener gets to know a character as a highly intelligent and passionate scientist/researcher/problem solver, he is she is represented with a moronic, cartoonish accent for no apparent reason.
The inappropriateness was very frustrating, when the rest of the story was read beautifully. I could listen to Sarah Barron's natural voice forever.

Historia
The Second City has launched the careers of celebrated comic performers such as Tina Fey and Stephen Colbert and produced award-winning content. But it's the actual improvisational process developed and honed over the years by The Second City that has become its legacy. Players master an ability to cocreate in ensembles using philosophies that celebrate a "yes, and" approach.

The title is the best part
Revisado: 04-05-15
Would you try another book from Kelly Leonard and Tom Yorton and/or Alan Winter?
No. It never seems to get to any points advertised. Very disorganized presentation.
What three words best describe Alan Winter’s performance?
Very good
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment. I wanted something useful. I'm not going to hire Second City to come to my meeting and make a point using sketch comedy.
Any additional comments?
I thought the book would would focus on "showing leaders how to apply the tools of improv to common business challenges", as described. Instead, this was a rambling pile of name-dropping. The book meanders through business-type situations (without getting to the meat of what was done) and quickly returns to theatre performances - even describing the number of people in the audience, and whether they were grumpy.

How to ruin an audiobook in 2 easy steps
Revisado: 03-19-15
If you could sum up Vocal Power in three words, what would they be?
Very helpful exercises.
Any additional comments?
How to ruin an audiobook in 2 easy steps:
1. Add truly terrible music throughout the book
2. Talk over it
Music at the beginning and end of each chapter is painful enough. It also seems to be used to emphasize sections within the chapters. Roger reads over the music (which is approximately the same volume as his speaking), so you're forced to endure it. The sounds are difficult to sort, which frustrates me.
What were they thinking?!
Excellent content, great delivery, helpful exercises, but the music destroys the quality of the book.
