Historia
You will never read Denny Younger's name in any history book, will never know what he's done. But even if you did, you'd never believe it. The world as you know it wouldn't be the same without him. Denny was born into one of the lowest rungs of society, but his bleak fortunes abruptly change when the mysterious Upjohn Institute recruits him to be a Rewinder, a verifier of personal histories. The job at first sounds like it involves researching old books and records, but Denny soon learns it's far from it.

Starts slow but picks up decently about halfway.

Pretty good. Not great. Brings up some interesting philosophical questions but the story is fairly flat. The narrator's voice didn't do it for me but it was adequate. Decent short book on time travel.

Historia
Sometimes the worst storms aren't from Mother Nature, and sometimes the worst nightmares aren't the ones in our heads. Mike Mitchell, an average New Yorker already struggling to keep his family together, suddenly finds himself fighting just to keep them alive when an increasingly bizarre string of disasters starts appearing on the world's news networks. As both the real world and the cyber world come crashing down, bending perception and reality, a monster snowstorm cuts New York off from the world, turning it into a wintry tomb where nothing is what it seems.

Historia
Four days before Christmas in 1943, a badly damaged American bomber struggled to fly over wartime Germany. At its controls was a 21-year-old pilot. Half his crew lay wounded or dead. It was their first mission. Suddenly a sleek, dark shape pulled up on the bomber’s tail - a German Messerschmitt fighter. Worse, the German pilot was an ace, a man able to destroy the American bomber with the squeeze of a trigger.

Historia
Can a whale attack a ship? The shipwrecked crew of the whaleship Essex was living proof that it could when a whale displayed a fury never before witnessed, ramming and sinking their vessel in a matter of minutes in November 1820. The story of their survival is one rarely spoken of by Nantucketers even to this day, but National Book Award-winning author Nathaniel Philbrick courageously brings every shocking detail into the light.

If one George Carlin audio is funny, then two are funnier, and three must be funniest, right? That's our thinking behind this new collection. It's a HighBridge library of laugh-out-loud, award-winning recordings featuring George himself performing many of his best bits.

Historia
For two thousand years, cadavers have been involved in science's boldest strides and weirdest undertakings. They've tested France's first guillotines, ridden the NASA Space Shuttle, been crucified in a Parisian laboratory to test the authenticity of the Shroud of Turin, and helped solve the mystery of TWA Flight 800. For every new surgical procedure, from heart transplants to gender reassignment surgery, cadavers have been there alongside surgeons, making history in their quiet way.

Not for the sensitive...
Revisado: 04-20-04
This was a pretty good book. Its definitely not for anyone who is sensitive talking about dead bodies. Apparently Im one of those people because I really had to force myself to finish this book. It does a good job overall however.

Pretty good but not great
Revisado: 01-01-04
I'm mostly done with it now and heres what I think. Its a pretty good book. Very interesting subject matter but he seems to have done very little with it. Everyhting is very straightforward. really simple. The narrator is great EXCEPT....for his voices..they are just awful! I wish he would have just read the lines without doing the voices. I got tired of his Merrick/Schwarzeneggar voice about five minutes in. I dont want to harp on it too bad though, it was pretty good I dont regret listening just dont expect loads of depth.

Great book!
Revisado: 08-13-03
This is a really good book. It really does touch on nearly every area of science. Great if you just want to brush up on your general science knowledge. I have to echo the earlier comments also, this guy is a great narrator. Never droning or monotonous. I highly recommend this book
