Way to much sex. not enough story

If sex scenes are your thing, half the book is nothing but.
- There is no love interests, Just lust interests. Boy meets girl, and another, and another, and another. Sex happens. Sometimes there are multiple chapters of sex. And then cringe worthy emotional outbursts happen. The usual young lust you expect from inexperienced Horney teenagers. An ever growing conquest of new additions to the harem leaves the concept of romance dead.
- The story, What little there is between the sex scenes is somewhat interesting.

-- While I try to only get books that have multiple readers these days. The difference between the readers in this one is to jarring for my short attention span. Alfie Syme is loud and clear and manages to keep my attention, Renée Nolen is low and slow. I'm having a hard time hearing Renée. They both have great range. Renée just needs to match Alfie's energy.
- I keep dropping this title for others in my list because of this.

The suspension of disbelief is shattered by so many nonsense situations. Like federal agents spying on a guy for unrealistic reasons. Then trying to arrest the guy for being a terrorist because he what? Won some money. Then bought some metal, wires, phones, and a spot robot dog online? Yet German Nationalists somehow get plutonium into the country for some kind of racist terror plot without these nonsense feds knowing. No wonder the feds couldn't catch the terrorists, They were to busy sending the army after a guy for buying a new car. And was the Alien AI spying on him before "chosing" him? Even his neighbor was spying in him through binoculars. lol.

The narration was ok.
The constant flashback chapters broke up story progression, making listening a chore. it's like the author took the settup back story and shuffled the chapters together with the groundhog day story, then shuffled in background world lore chapters. Making a cluster kludge of a mess to slog through.

Sword art online + D&D meme tropes 4 fn & profit

Daniel is one of my favorite Narrators, but it would be so much better if a lady read for the female parts. Audio books with pairs of Narrators have spoiled me, so I have to take away a star when I see one Narrator these days.
- The story was interesting, A little sword art online, meets D&D, with plenty of geeky tropes, and memes referenced for a bit of nostalgia relatablity. It kind of draws you in, making you realize the story takes place a generation or three from the readers perspective. where nostalgia is a hipster trend for the kids to share. I almost related to the elderly characters more than the younger ones myself, I could see a younger listener doing the opposite.
- it's mostly from the perspective of one character. Until he party up, then it teases you with a few interesting side characyers, leaving the side characters a little forgotten. But still interesting to me. If you don't find the main character relatable, it might be a little more boring.
- Like with many TT RPG themed stories there's a bit to much combat for my taste, The stats could be set up in their own chapters to be easily skipped for those less interested in being bogged down in the middle of a chapter with stats that will change soon enough to be forgotten. Alas they kind of break the tempo of the story a little to often to be appreciated otherwise.
- All in all, I found it interesting, And I adore Daniel Wisniewski, I ❤️ most of the books he's Narrated for. Including this one.
- But hey, *as Levar Buryon would put it,) Don't take my word for it' Give it a listen for yourself and see if it's to your taste.

Nymphomaniac's Isekai monster girl harem

The mc's backstory, and set-up, magic, and base building all had a good run, until the harem started.
- No romance building. Its mostly lust.
- once the sex starts it takes over. Most of the book was sex scenes. If that's what you are looking for, then this book might scratch that horny itch.
- For me, I tend to skip most of the sex scenes. Which left me with little plot/world Building after the sex started.
- The girls are monster girl fetish fuel. Also baby crazy fetish fuel. But you should have figured that out with the cover art.
- The MC is crafty, until he stops thinking with his big head. The first girl reads him like an open book, and when she drops clues as to her invasive indiscretion, His little head keeps him from realizing. So, while he might be a magical powerhouse, he's also a horny fool.
- Unfortunately with harem titles; time for romance if any, tends to die generally after girl 3 joins the team. With this MC, its animal lust at first sight. There is a logical excuse however, the characters do get to know each other better with the help of magic. More time for sex I guess...

Reba Buhr is most excellent. & I hope to hear her on other titles, I would especially love to see her team ups.
[= Unrelated: For instance my current favorite team up is 'Extra Credit;' Narrated by Jack Douglas, & Maggie Langhorne.]
=== The First Cinnamon Bun Book was interesting to an Otaku (Nerd) like myself. The Anime Tropes came on thick, & relative.
- The Premise intrigued me. An Isekai (Other worldly) with references to the classic otherworldly Alice in Wonderland. Even the happy go lucky Flower Child was interesting. Seeing as I'm descended from a long line of Gypsy Hippies, I could actually dig it. Flower children are precious.
= Then comes the Tsundere, & I was like... uhhg, ok. But I can dig it. I know where this is going. But I'll keep listening.
== Then comes the rescued repressed lesbian lust interest. & I was like *Facepalm* The Tropes are so strong with this one. My Immersion?!? >_<
= Then the leg humpingly awkward sexist troop of men trope punched me in the face. Now listening felt abusive, But like with many abusive conversations, I kept hoping the situation would improve...
== Then the asinine Dragon... Who gets reduced to folly, & easily defeated by Plot armored scolding. By this point I was battered jaded by the often predictable, & sometimes even abusive Tropes to the point that it was unhealthy to keep listening.
= In conclusion to the midway point, The Setup was good, the delivery became riddled with predictable, & sometimes abusive tropes, My Immersion flat lined. & now the only way I can finish this book is as background noise while I game.
=== However; To each their own! this title mayhap lost me halfway through. However don't take my Trope Jaded heart as your compass. The Flavor of the Tea may yet still be to your interest.
= Allot of sugar & Honey, spiked with a bit of mind numbing Schnapps' leaving your forgetting what happened the night before, a dash of Tsundere hot sauce that goes mild from the sweetness, and a pinch of roofie, (Yes the oblivious MC gets molested in her sleep by the rescued 3rd wheel 'first lust' princess.) brewed with some really stale Tea leaves that lost their flavor ages ago. If that sounds yummy, Have at it.
= I'll stick with some simple Monkfruit/Stevia sweetened Chamomile, Black, & Mint mixed leaf brews.
- Great... the tea analogy has made me thirsty now.

= This book appeals to me on multiple levels.
- The Narration, was absolutely brilliant. Maggie, & Jack did a most excellent job. & I find myself hoping that the little Kobold finds his wife interested with joining him online in the next book. Needs more Maggie, :D
= The background characters are interesting. & have a life of their own. I enjoyed the party dynamics. & I also liked the solo efforts. There was a nice balance. Sometimes he was solo, sometimes in a party, Fantastic.
- Kobolds have always held a special place in my own Dungeons & Dragons campaign setting. So I find it interesting to see a little Draconic Underdog made a focus in his own story/setting.
= Pet classes have also always been a favorite of mine. & Necromancers are often the only option for a pet class aficionado. Though I prefer Golems, Elementals, or Magic Beast summoners aesthetically speaking over Necro-Animators, when the rare option arises, (Most games lean towards Necromancer.) Still seeing a pet class in play is highly appealing to a pet class connoisseur like myself.
- All in all this book is right up my ally. & I greatly enjoyed it.
- I suppose my only issue is a personal one, I have a short attention span, & had to re-listen to some chapters over and over again. Not a bad thing. It helps train my focus. But I can understand that it might be a slog for the more action oriented listeners.
= I suppose that's the expected curse of LitRPG titles. This is a title you can't really take a reviewers word for it. Either you like it, or it's not your cup of tea. Either way, the Narration was brilliant. For that alone, It's worth giving it a listen.

Good narration, Additional narrators would have made it better.
- The story: World building had potential. characters barely interested me.
- The plot: to forced, bogged down by long scenes, with little story progression..
- The story: To heavily plot driven, not enough character.
- The characters: predictable Tropes, Passangers along for the plot driven ride, forgettable.
- The pacing: slow, almost torturous to listen to all the forced plot dictates, lots of cringy affirmations that felt forced. artificial, unnatural. not organic.
- The verdict, has potential, but lacks sensibility. I think I'll pass on what would otherwise be a series up my ally.
- with a good book, I ask myself, what would the mc do in a given situation? what of Plot tropes, vs characteristic driven story.
- The most memorable characters fight to thrive despite circumstance, unhinged, unchained by plot tropes. able to express; personality, individuality, persona elocution. anima, grabbing your attention, demanding your acceptance with sensibility.
- The spirit of a story lives in the heart of its characters, not its plot narration. 🙈🙉🙊
