FANTASTIC!!!!
Revisado: 03-25-22
FANTASTIC! INSPIRING! FUNNY! MOVING! Wow, Ms. Poumpouras has a knack for story telling. It's a story about a tough woman, but she never loses her femininity. She never tries to be tough like a man. She's just a strong woman... PERIOD! I will be gifting this book to many of my girl friends 🌟

The most LIGHTHEARTED parenting book!
Revisado: 01-09-22
This book was such a breeze to get through. The author keeps everything light and bubbly. not that she's not talking about serious stuff, she simply chooses to leave out the "negativity cycle". Fantastic Book!!! It deserves a re-read : )

Based on seven years of ground-breaking research and hundreds of interviews, I Thought It Was Just Me shines a long-overdue light on an important truth: Our imperfections are what connect us to each other and to our humanity. Our vulnerabilities are not weaknesses; they are powerful reminders to keep our hearts and minds open to the reality that we're all in this together.

POWERFUL!!!
Revisado: 12-30-21
It's my first audiobook of Brenê Brown that I listen to and BOY I'm on a journey now... listen to her ENTIRE collection! This book was magnificent! As a woman, I have felt so many of these examples and yes, I though it was just me. I thought surely something must be wrong with ME, for feeling this way. I now see we're an entire group who is just trying their best and simply isn't equipped with the right vocabulary to express and DEFEND ourselves. This book is a MUST READ for every woman, no matter the age, race or walk of life!!!

Highlights Good Examples

It's a good book to own. I feel as though a lot of this information has already been told in other self-help books, but I always appreciate a good packaged book. I like the new referenced material on social media & electronics. I enjoyed this book.

BRILLIANT!
Revisado: 09-13-21
What a magnificent book! It took me a week to get through it as it had some pretty intense parts. I had to take breaks in between the chapters with lighter reading. It was definitely worth it. My favorite part was when Mike & his friend are at the coffee shop and his friend tells him all about his hardships with HIS foster child... holy moly, I was balling!

FANTASTIC!
Revisado: 09-11-21
Loved it from beginning to end. I especially love when authors narrate their own books. When they say a word a certain way, you KNOW that's exactly as it was intended. This book gives such solid advice and impulses pondering. Even with all of the religious references, I still would recommend it to ALL, religious or not. This book is absolutely worth it. It's a powerful piece of writing.

Historia
For more than a decade, Kathy Harrison has sheltered a shifting cast of troubled youngsters - the offspring of prostitutes and addicts; the sons and daughters of abusers; and teenage parents who aren't equipped for parenthood. All this, in addition to raising her three biological sons and two adopted daughters. What would motivate someone to give herself over to constant, largely uncompensated chaos? For Harrison, the answer is easy.

ENTHRALLING From Beginning to End
Revisado: 09-10-21
I absolutely LOVED this book!!! It hooks you in from the beginning and takes you along for the bumpy ride of foster care/adoption life. My favorite part is when she selflessly chooses NOT to adopt Lucy as it is not what's the ultimate best for the two! WOW! WOW! WOW!
