Entertaining and Original
Revisado: 03-19-21
My 7, 5 and 3 year olds all enjoy this one. The music and voice performances are unique and original. Also happy to expose the kids to non-American English accents.

It's maybe a bit dated
Revisado: 08-06-18
So this book concerns a lot about having a blog. Since there are so many ways now to develop an audience and make money online, it feels dated. that said, most of it is applicable, so the attentive listener will still get a lot out of it.

really great audio book and the author did an excellent job reading it. Short book but full of powerful words, and just enough explanation that it all hits home.

Historia
For those looking for the real story behind the fictionalized movie account of the 47 Ronin story, this is the definitive, fascinating account of this unforgettable tale of a band of samurai who defied the Emperor to avenge the disgrace and death of their master, and faced certain death as a result. It led to one of the bloodiest episodes in Japanese history, and in the process, created a new set of heroes in Japan.

Convincing & Sophisticated with Great Narration
Revisado: 05-03-15
GOOD - Convincing & Sophisticated
The world the author presents is convincing and sophisticated. Interpersonal relationships, biological basis for the infection, character psychology, military and scientific technical areas - all are presented in a convincing and sophisticated way.
The author seems to have made a deliberate choice not to create too complex a story, which allowed her to keep a relatively brisk pace. The subtle humor and tensions between the main characters kept things lively.
GREAT - Narration
Finty Williams is such a pleasure to listen to. (She's Judi Dench's daughter, so there you go).
NOT GREAT - Consistent but not Complex
Characters are consistent but not complex. There doesn't seem to be much underneath their exterior. What they say and what they do actually does represent who they are. Only one character has any hidden darkness, and that feels forced.
Plot is consistent but not complex. Being generous, I suppose that's what must happen to keep the story moving along at a quick pace.
