Historia
Having survived their journey into the Dark Heart, Arthur and his dragon, Brixaby, have a new goal: complete their Legendary card sets. Unfortunately, the next Legendary card is locked away in Blood Moon, a hive with a reputation for chaos, lawlessness, scourgling eruptions, and—rumor has it—dedicated dragon hunters. Still, Arthur and his retinue feel they have little to fear. Then again, they also don't have much knowledge of what actually lies ahead.

Revisado: 10-24-24
Honour is an excellent writer who doesn't let her systems get in the way of the story, her dialogues are good and characters and motivations feel very good.
This story is a little shallower than ATS but it's definitely fun and has plenty of room to grow.

Historia
What if life as we know it was just a game? What if instead of traditional schools, children learned by participating in a virtual reality simulation, one that allowed them to experience "life" from birth to death - multiple times? What if one player, on his final play, could change the world forever?

There are a couple ideas but the writing is rough
Revisado: 07-19-23
the largest issue with this book is probably the character dialogue, its really really bad and it last a long time
the other issue is there isn't a main character, you follow the "main character" for 2 pages then we time skip 10 years, so your never dealing with any challenges or solutions, just skipping to scenes where the characters are for one moment in time then hereing a list of achievements from the past 10 years
Outside the virtual world is much of the same, the CEO of the world is kinda a neat character but I'm reading the last chapter now and still don't know whats up with him, you skip from stressful scene to celebration, several times he tries some kind of machacnation that fails but everything works out somehow anyway, evocative but hard to follow
There is way to much techonobabble

Historia
Nate wants more to life than moving from town to town, hustling chess with his con-man grandfather or wagering pick-up games online. A new immersive game opens up the chance to bring in a steady paycheck. Maybe enough to convince his grandfather to stay straight. Little does he know how his actions will change his life. A GameLit coming of age story.

No issues from me with the narrator but the story
Revisado: 07-17-23
Main character never has to deal with any hardship, his "class" in the video games turns out to be the strongest
Secretly the grandest master of chess but still wierdly cheats to secure wins against much lower elo players at the park?
Locked in a dungeon and underleveled? np your new familiar spell is digger
Going up against a too strong monster? np its frustrated with all the other players and agrees to talk with no hesitation
Our genius MC never has too think his way out of any situation and theirs no comedy to justify that with
And unfortunately the game world their in sounds ridiculously boring, their no "game aspects" its like a work simulator, all the players groan at every irritating quest that gets in their way
if it existed in our world it would be a work training simulator + adult sim
...
which it also is in this book, why does the game world need to reference that this world has adult sexy time opportunities and strip the characters so often? It's not played for erotica it's just kinda ... stuck in there

Historia
In The Monsters Know What They're Doing, Keith Ammann lightens the DM's burden by helping you understand your monsters' abilities and develop battle plans before your fifth edition D&D game session begins. Just as soldiers don't whip out their field manuals for the first time when they're already under fire, a DM shouldn't wait until the PCs have just encountered a dozen bullywugs to figure out how they advance, fight, and retreat.

This works perfect for the Busy DM who doesn't have time to bget abhook shipped, flip through pages and all that stuff.
Each chapter in audible is split to a different npc which is perfect !

Historia
On a cold spring night in 1952, a huge meteorite fell to earth and obliterated much of the East Coast of the US, including Washington, DC. The ensuing climate cataclysm will soon render the Earth inhospitable for humanity, as the last such meteorite did for the dinosaurs. This looming threat calls for a radically accelerated effort to colonize space and requires a much-larger share of humanity to take part in the process. Elma York’s drive to become the first lady astronaut is so strong that even the most dearly held conventions of society may not stand a chance against her.

Stephen Leeds is perfectly sane. It's his hallucinations who are mad. A genius of unrivaled aptitude, Stephen can learn any new skill, vocation, or art in a matter of hours. However, to contain all of this, his mind creates hallucinatory people - Stephen calls them aspects - to hold and manifest the information. Wherever he goes, he is joined by a team of imaginary experts to give advice, interpretation, and explanation. He uses them to solve problems...for a price. Then a company hires him to recover stolen property - a camera that can allegedly take pictures of the past....

Historia
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

the narrator does a really good job what she's trying to do, unfortunately some of her lines are soorta cringy but not that bad. The letters from when she was 12 are painful.

Historia
Landover was a genuine magic kingdom, with fairy folk and wizardry, just as the advertisement promised. But after he purchased it, Ben Holiday learned that there were a few details the ad had failed to mention.
The kingdom was in ruin. The Barons refused to recognize the king, and the peasants were without hope.

at any point in this book does anything happen?
Revisado: 08-18-17
you know how a summary candle even the greatest most exciting books feel bland and uninteresting? This books take a lovely magic Kingdom and then writes the entire book in that boring voice I kept reading on going maybe now something is going to happen. no? well for sure this chapter. nope. never it simply does not pick up. such a fun interesting idea and it reads like a law document.
Dick Hill did a fine job and did decent, distinctive voices for everybody but for love of God the music at the end of every chapter? Why? It's and old recording the the audio is kinda scratchy.
