Historia
St. Teresa's (1515 - 1582) book of her foundations, is a historical account of the birth and development of her monastic order. Written by the saint herself, she gives her first-hand account of the trials and successes she had in spreading Catholic monasticism throughout Spain. The book is in a sense a sequel to her autobiographical, The Life which tells of her internal struggles to grow spiritually. A classic of Catholic literature, this book gives a rare first-hand glimpse of the labors of one of Spain's most revered saints.

Spanish nun with a Southern accent?
Revisado: 10-13-21
Listen to the sample of the recording. The narrator's accent is tolerable for 4 minutes, but after a while, it gets very tiring after a while! Not only does the narrator have some kind of heavy southern (?) accent, but she also reads like she is languishing. Not for a book by Mother Teresa of Avila. It may be suitable for other books.

Historia
In a steel-and-lead-encased bunker 20 feet below the basement level of his house, a soldier waits for his final orders. On the surface, a plague ravages the planet, infecting over 90% of the populace. The bacterium burrows through the brain, destroying all signs of humanity and leaving behind little more than base, prehistoric instincts. The infected turn into hyper-aggressive predators, with an insatiable desire to kill and feed. Someday soon, the soldier will have to open the hatch to his bunker, and step out into this new wasteland, to complete his mission....

Hang In There; It Is A Good Story
Revisado: 11-23-14
If you could sum up The Remaining in three words, what would they be?
Exciting, exasperating and credit-worthy
Which character – as performed by Christian Rummel – was your favorite?
Of course, our flawed hero. I also really like the development of Angela's character.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, I listed to all 4 in the series thru.
Any additional comments?
OK. The first time I listed to this book, I returned it. I could not get over some of Lee's stupid decisions. It exasperated me. The second time around I expected a flawed hero, if with all his special training, and the story became exciting and I could not put it down. If you like the first book, prepare your credits to buy all four. His decisions in the first book make a lot more sense at the end of the 4th book. The 4 books read as one long story with odd placed cliff hangers but the ending of the 4th book series was very satisfactory but with room for more story next. Can't wait for the next book!

A Must for Mike Talbot Fans
Revisado: 11-23-14
What made the experience of listening to Zombie Fallout 8 the most enjoyable?
I love Sean Runnette's narration. In my mind, he IS Mike Talbot. Hope he never stops narrating the Zombie Fallout series.
What other book might you compare Zombie Fallout 8 to and why?
None. Mike Talbot's sense of humor, love for his family is missing from a lot of otherwise good zombie books. Plus no other book has Tripp!! Still. I would also recommend the Remaining by DJ Molles (hang in there, the story is good, I returned it the first time around). Lycan Fallout by Mark Tufo is also really good.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Mike Talbot always makes me laugh. It is a great action packed adventure.
Any additional comments?
The story moved a little slow for me in this book. I don't want to give anything away, but our heroes don't make a lot of progress in this one.

Historia
This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.

What am I going to do now?
Revisado: 02-22-14
Have you listened to any of Grover Gardner’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Grover Gardener is an excellent narrator. I have to admit at first was a little bit difficult for me to get used to listening, not sure why, the accents, the speed, not sure. However, after the first chapter, my hearing adjusted I could not imagine anyone else reading this book. It is perfection.
Who was the most memorable character of The Stand and why?
I think all the main characters are memorable, I felt like they were my friends, my neighbors, people I knew or could know. Nick, Tom and "East Texas" were the most endearing to me.
Any additional comments?
After almost non-stop listening, I finished the book and I don't know what am I supposed to do with my life now, :) The characters became my day to day companions, I actually miss them and I miss the narrators voice. I hope they would re-appear on another book. Already looking for my next audio book but I know I will be comparing any other book to the standards of The Stand.

Historia
Xenocide is the third installment of the Ender series. On Lusitania, Ender found a world where humans and pequeninos and the Hive Queen could all live together; where three very different intelligent species could find common ground at last. Or so he thought. But Lusitania also harbors the descolada, a virus which kills all humans it infects, but which the pequeninos require in order to transform into adults.

Horrid Narration, Great Story
Revisado: 01-16-14
Where does Xenocide rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
So far, I have read Ender's game, Speaker for the Dead and Xenocide. I think the books keep getting better and better.
What didn’t you like about the narrators’s performance?
The narration is horrid in general. (1) There are several narrators, but the parts they read are inconsistent, thus creating a lot of confusion. For example, one paragraph will have one female narrator reading a female character and immediately the next paragraph will have a male character reading the SAME female character. (2) Towards the end of the book, two of the narrators sound like they are children, not reading a child character but the narrators themselves sound like they are children reading out-loud. (3) The voice of the hive queen is the most irritating thing I have ever heard in my life. Every word is exxxxteeeennnnddddeeeeeddddddddddd and then then the special effects add an "echo" to each eeeeeeeexxxxxxxxxxxtttttttttttteeeeeeeennnnnnnndddddddddeeeeeeedddddddd word. I do not think the book was written like that, so why is it read that way? (4) The female narrator reading is extremely affected, no matter what the character is saying, she says it as the final dying words of an important person. (5) The reading for all the characters of the God's spoken is infuriating, the narrators are trying to imitate "Chinese" accents but the accents are inconsistent, very affected and I understand maybe the characters "sounding" that way, but the narration also?
I am not sure who produced this audio book, the book is excellent and I think this audio book is a total disservice to the author and to the audience as well.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I really like the philosophical arguments in which the characters engage themselves and how every character is well rounded with qualities and defects, very "human" even the aliens :)
