Historia
Travis Devine has become a pro at accomplishing any mission he's given. But this time it’s not his skills that send him to Seattle to aid the FBI in escorting orphaned, twelve-year-old Betsy Odom to a meeting with her uncle, who’s under federal investigation. Instead, he’s hoping to lay low and keep off the radar of an enemy–the girl on the train. But as Devine gets to know Betsy, questions begin to arise around the death of her parents.

At first I was skeptical seeing so many narrators but soon I realized how good they all were in their roles. Excellent story line-maybe my fav of all 3. Keep up great work and already looking forward to Travis and Company Book -#4. Terrific🙂👍🏻

Renée Ballard and the LAPD’s Open-Unsolved Unit get a hot shot DNA connection between a recently arrested man and a serial rapist and murderer who went quiet twenty years ago. The arrested man is only twenty-four, so the genetic link must be familial: His father was the Pillowcase Rapist, responsible for a five-year reign of terror in the city of angels. But when Ballard and her team move in on their suspect, they encounter a baffling web of secrets and legal hurdles. Meanwhile, Ballard’s badge, gun, and ID are stolen.

What happened to the end?
Revisado: 10-19-23
As a HUGE Grisham fan, I was excited to listen to this new book. I was disappointed that Grisham ignored the developments of the TV series from years ago-thought it was terrific!! I got over that after a couple hours then waited for the twists and turns to unfurl. I waited right up to the end…when the loose ends were not addressed. Feel I will have to imagine a more satisfying ending. Narrator always terrific.

So nice when the good "guys" win.
Revisado: 03-13-15
In this day of so many crime stories & thrillers that all seem to be upping the trauma levels to get our attention, it's been great to listen to this series (only on #2 so far-about to start 3 after this review).
Thanks to the author for creating a cast of characters who (mostly) bring out the best of human nature. As a quilter it is fun to have that hobby in the background, however I believe it's not what makes the story so enjoyable & the characters so warmly embraced. With all that's going on in the world, I'm enjoying the satisfaction of a series where goodness & truth have a chance to win the day! I'm enjoying the 2 narrator format. The readers have been great so far. Hoping she sticks with same voices throughout the series (fingers crossed).

Enjoyed the unfolding story
Revisado: 01-10-15
It's my first book by the author. It was interesting without having to create stress like some thrillers (which can be terrific when one is in the mood for a page turner.) the narrator made it easy to picture Riley (main character). Going to recommend to my Mom's senior book club.

Historia
A woman is cruelly cut down in a remote corner of Arizona, killed on her nineteenth wedding anniversary by a drunk motorist. A year later, the driver himself dies badly, and all suspicions point to the slain woman's still-grieving husband as his murderer. But the truth is rarely black and white in the long Southwestern shadows, and one law officer is not rushing to condemn the tragic widower so quickly - Joanna Brady, sheriff of Cochise County.

New Narrator tremendous!
Revisado: 06-16-14
What did you love best about Dead to Rights?
Seeing Joanna awaken to her own talents & have more confidence in her instincts as she frees herself from the negative impact of her judgmental Mother is great!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Joanna...naturally :-)
What does C. J. Critt bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Coming into a series after another narrator has begun is unfortunate for the listeners & extremely unfair to the next narrator. CJ Critt is always terrific in her work, even though a different style than the also good Huber (Books 1-3). Not sure how anyone could not love CJ's work. Maybe just because she's different. Before the end of any first chapter, you're convinced Critt has a cast of people in the recording booth with her. Ignore anything bad about CJ Critt and check it out for yourself. You'll be happy you did.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I often wanted to shout at her Mother for being so critical, grumpy and judgmental. So happy to watch her wake-up to her mother's manipulation.
