Historia
A celebration of the huge linguistic diversity that is open to all of us at birth, and that has inspired and fascinated humans since the invention of speech. The acclaimed novelist Sophie Hardach - a German native who writes in English - explores languages, and multilingualism, as an expression of human creativity and identity, and a way to connect in an often fractured world - a necessary and important pursuit in these politically divided times.

A very beautiful story about the history of languages, bad how it connects us, way back at the time of Babylon to the modern time, beautifully written and the performance was amazing.

Revisado: 10-12-23
Great book, may be a little bit long because of all the scientific details and medical terms, but it's understandable due to the complexity of the issue.
I also was surprised and enjoyed the emotional aspect of the book and Attia's honesty about his emotional and psychological struggles and how he manage to overcome all that, well done Dr Attia, and wish you more and more success, hardly wait for your next masterpiece

Historia
In this myth-busting book, Daniel Lieberman, professor of human evolutionary biology at Harvard University and a pioneering researcher on the evolution of human physical activity, tells the story of how we never evolved to exercise - to do voluntary physical activity for the sake of health. Using his own research and experiences throughout the world, Lieberman recounts without jargon how and why humans evolved to walk, run, dig, and do other necessary and rewarding physical activities while avoiding needless exertion.

Loved it from the first word to the last, I'm sad it cones to an end, going certainly to listen to it again in the near future
The narrator is fantastic, expressing the irony, sarcasism in a very smart way.

Historia
Some people bounce back in response to setbacks; others break. We often think that these responses are hardwired, but fortunately this is not the case. Stoicism offers us an alternative approach. Plumbing the wisdom of one of the most popular and successful schools of thought from ancient Rome, philosopher William B. Irvine teaches us to turn any challenge on its head. The Stoic Challenge, then, is the ultimate guide to improving your quality of life through tactics developed by ancient Stoics, from Marcus Aurelius and Seneca to Epictetus.

New chapters than a new book
Revisado: 04-30-21
It's difficult to count this as a new book, it's more like new chapters to the first big book about stoisisim for the same writer.
I recommend reading that first, then you will enjoy this one and give you more insight on how to practice this philosophy

Historia
One of the great fears many of us face is that despite all our effort and striving, we will discover at the end that we have wasted our life. In A Guide to the Good Life, William B. Irvine plumbs the wisdom of Stoic philosophy, one of the most popular and successful schools of thought in ancient Rome, and shows how its insight and advice are still remarkably applicable to modern lives. In A Guide to the Good Life, Irvine offers a refreshing presentation of Stoicism, showing how this ancient philosophy can still direct us toward a better life.

Philosophy of life
Revisado: 04-22-21
Loved the book, I was already reading another book which was more like introduction to stoicism when I started listening to meditations by the other on the *waking up * app and was surprised that it's about what I was reading, so I started reading his book and it's worth reading even if you know what's stoicism is, because every writer has his own input and understanding of the philosophy
I like how he addresses the modern life and society, and the easy way of him explaining how he understands stoicicm and why it worked for him, worth reading, the narrator did a good job too, the other doesn't have the right voice to do it to be honest, him being a stoic will not mind me saying that 😉
