Historia
1932: Located on the banks of the Gilead River in Minnesota, Lincoln School is home to hundreds of Native American boys and girls who have been separated from their families. The only two white boys in the school are orphan brothers Odie and Albert, who, under the watchful eyes of the cruel superintendent Mrs. Brickman, are often in trouble for misdeeds both real and imagined. The two boys' best friend is Mose, a mute Native American who is also the strongest kid in school. And they find another ally in Cora Frost, a widowed teacher who is raising her little girl, Emmy, by herself.

A very sad story of a time in history.
Revisado: 12-22-20
this is an excellent informative history of a time. it is not an entertaining read. It's a rather depressing account of man's inhumanity to man and, worse, to children! the writing is fluid , catches attention and holds that interest to the end.

So very interesting. a perfect example of how we, as ignorant people, can cause chaotic results. Also showing how and why the selfish actions of some can make the lives of others so very hard!

Historia
Marvellously atmospheric tale of strangers summoned to a grand but neglected villa on the Italian coast. Each of them has been named in a will, but nobody knows their benefactress.... Four very different people are named in a will. Delia, an opera singer robbed of her voice by illness; George, an idealistic scientist who cannot face what his skills have created; Marjorie, desperately poor and unable to dislodge her writer’s block; and Lucius, ostensibly in control but whose personal life is in chaos.

Reading this story was like trying to untangle a mussed ball of very fine crochet cotton!
I had to return a few times to sort out the story threads. The threads of the plot were a little difficult to sort out.

I enjoyed all the lighthearted fun and games among the various character's and friends . it's a very different view that each of us faces, especially at my age of 81 years. life comes to an end and it may as well be on good terms with all and a smile on all faces.

Historia
In Search Of Black History with Bonnie Greer brings you face-to-face with the people you never knew existed. People whose stories tell us a different tale about who we all are. From the earliest glimmerings of modern humanity, up to the present day, Bonnie Greer uncovers the lives of people of African descent that don’t fit with the accepted history of Western Civilisation we’ve traditionally been taught. From saints, to philosophers, to warrior women and king’s heralds - these people’s lives have been lost, hidden and distorted down the centuries.

Revisado: 07-05-20
We need this history, but let's leave events from past where they belong, in the past. the guilty are no longer here. Don't cause anger & ire against those not guilty. Teach with the knowledge you have. Only understanding can change the negative. Only those who see PEOPLE and not coloured can join with the understanding of being a person and not take on the attitude of the animals. Animals are wary of anything that doesn't resemble them. we haave brains and can discern .
