I still enjoyed the book on the repeat read, but the mastering on the narration needs work. The overall narration is good, but the mouth noises are bad. I considered stopping a few times.

I never expected it to start this way

I know eventually the zombie apocalypse is going to get us all, but I never expected it to start this way. This book is so much fun even though it has a dark edge to it. It makes me picture how the every day family might react to finding out everything has changed overnight and that their city is no longer safe.

The road trip from hell

I love the mixture of humor and horror in this series. Every time you think the Ricters might catch a break something new and horrible happens that just makes you cringe as you laugh your way through it. And Jeffrey Kafer is fantastic as the narrator for this series.

Flint breaks my heart

This book was just as good the second time as the first and I absolutely loved Flint and Ash. There was so much about this book that I forgot from the first read and the story of Flint and Ash will break your heart.
Laura Jennings' reading of Ash was really well done. She came across as both vulnerable and worldly at the same time. And Carson Beck was perfect as Flint. Flint has a lot of ups and downs in this book and the way Carson reads Flint makes you feel like you're there in story with them.
I'm definitely going back to listen to this one again.

Perfect narration to a great story

I've been waiting for this book in the Cake series because Keith is such a quiet character from the previous books and you don't really know much about him. And you know something kept him and Sam apart so I was all in when this came out.
Andi Arndt is always a favorite for narration and she did a fantastic job as Sam. Her inflections are spot on and she narrated the book exactly how I thought the scene would play out.
I don't think that I've listened to anything before this narrated by Alex Kydd, but I will be looking for his books after this. He was perfect as Keith. His narration had emotion and humor and made it easy to distinguish between Keith as a kid and Keith as an adult.
Definitely worth the wait.

Not a Michael Talbot story but it didn't matter...

What made the experience of listening to Dystance the most enjoyable?
This is another tremdous story crafted by Mark Tufo. He has the ability to make his characters believable without beating you over the head with page after page of backstory. I was concerned about listening to this book because it was not of the "Fallout" genre as I have come to love, along with the rest of Mark Tufo's stories, but I had faith. I was not disappointed. The story brings you immediatelty into this new world and keeps you there. If you're a fan of Mark Tufo, this is a MUST HAVE. Bring on book two please!

Captivating Funny Thrilling
What other book might you compare Indian Hill to and why?
It reminds me of the original Edgar Rice Borroughs books of lost civilizations and adventure, with more humor than should be allowed in an adventure story.
What does Sean Runnette bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Sean Runnette IS John Talbott. His subtle ways from moving from character to character is smooth and flawless. He truly provides believability to the story and pulls the characters from the pages.
