Stop that carrot!!!!!!!
Revisado: 04-03-24
That’s the line that helped Jeff Melvoin break into TV writing after a journalism career. Not only is this book packed with insider info on what it’s like to move up the ranks from a staff writer to a show runner, it’s also incredibly entertaining. I binged it in a weekend. Jeff Melvoin gets into the nitty-gritty of the business sharing practical info like whether or not you need an agent, as well as his personal experiences dealing with difficult producers and executives. He also breaks down exactly what his daily schedule looked like when he was show running—something I haven’t seen shared in other books on the subject. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants some guidance and motivation on their journey to break into the world of TV writing.

Self Publishing Must Read
Revisado: 11-11-17
Monica Leonelle offers a straightforward, actionable system for making a career out of writing--no matter what level you're starting from. There is a ton of information packed in these pages, but Monica's writing style makes this read like advice from a friend rather than a textbook. Still, it's incredibly thorough--covering how to improve your writing craft to how to get fans who promote your stories for you. Fans of Sterling & Stone's Write, Publish, Repeat and Chris Fox's Write To Market will love this book. I also recommend reading the other books in Monica's Growth Hacking for Storytellers series like Write Better, Faster and 8-minute Writing Habit.
