Historia
In Sweden there is a kind of decluttering called döstädning, dö meaning "death" and städning meaning "cleaning." This surprising and invigorating process of clearing out unnecessary belongings can be undertaken at any age or life stage but should be done sooner rather than later, before others have to do it for you. In The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning, artist Margareta Magnusson, with Scandinavian humor and wisdom, instructs listeners to embrace minimalism.

Highly Disappointed Waste of Money and Time
Revisado: 09-08-23
I did not have time to read a book on this topic, and was thrilled to find an audio version. That was the last of the enjoyment.
The chapters take about 2 minutes each. There are minimal tidbits in the first few chapters that actually are on topic with the title.
The rest of the book is an autobiography of how organized the author is, with quite a few guilt trips added in, to remind you that you are not as organized as she is, and that your kids don’t want your crap-and you are a jerk if you leave it for them.
I could barely handle listening to how great her garden was, how many nice things she has from her international travel, including reading recipes from a cookbook collection. Unbelievable waste of time. From chapter 22 on, I spent more time fast forwarding than listening. It was painfully boring and my time is too valuable to waste. Save your money and time.

Evocative settings are more effective and compelling when they're visible, auditory, olfactory, and tactile. And character descriptions are much more visual and lifelike when they have unique physical attributes. This valuable reference and descriptive thesaurus offers writers a simplified way to depict vibrant settings and dynamic character descriptions flawlessly. This in-depth guidebook should be kept as a vital reference in every writer's toolbox.

Most Helpful Fiction Writing Book Ever
Revisado: 11-13-17
I have read hundreds of fiction writing books over the past three decades, and listened to dozens on Audible.
As far as actual helpful information presented in an easy to understand manner, this is the best I have ever listened to thus far.
I am in the middle of NaNoWriMo for the fourteenth year, and vow this to be the year that I win. I finally understand that editing is where your words begin to flourish, and that my first draft just needs to get on paper, so to speak.
There is no doubt in my mind that my book will be 1000 times better, once I implement the strategies I learned from this book. Instead of dreading the editing process, I am actually looking forward to it.
I have already listened twice, and about to start the third go-round with this book.
Highly recommended.

What makes a romance novel a romance? Writing a well-structured romance isn't the same as writing any other genre - something the popular novel and screenwriting guides don't address. The romance arc is made up of its own story beats. Told in conversational (and often irreverent) prose, Romancing the Beat is like sitting down to coffee with romance editor and author Gwen Hayes while she explains story structure - the way she does with her clients, some of whom are regular inhabitants of the best-seller lists.

Ruined by attempts at humor
Revisado: 10-17-17
The entire book was ruined by her attempts at humor. I could not tell you one actual relevant tip obtained via this book, as all were masked and hidden in some kind of inside jokes. Or attempts at jokes, I never cracked a smile. Huge waste of money. It was like watching a foreign language film whose narration did not match the mouth movements of the characters.
Waste of my time and money. If there was a printable list of the tips provided, without all of the attempts at humor, I am sure they would all fit on one page, and I wouldn’t mind glancing at that page to see if there was anything relevant to writing.

Better than expected.
Revisado: 09-29-17
When I first started listening, I was worried that the language differences between British English and American English were going to make it hard to follow, which is often the case.
She did a great job of giving several examples of each pointer, so even if I did not understand one example, the next I did.
It was a short and to-the-point book, which I like, and I will use the pointers that I learned, may even listen again, to see if I can pick up anything else.
Worth the time and money, thanks!

I an SO DISAPPOINTED that I spent $14.95 on this book. I wasted my money. This information is a way too old. Useless in today’s world.
The statistics are laughable.

Did you know that writing a book isn't that time consuming? It can be as short or long as you want. Providing readers with some quality as well as quantity is only a matter of know-how and experience. Start writing, and gain experience by practicing. In this audiobook I'll show you how I was able to write about 100 books in a few months, some of which are longer, sell better than others, and help me generate a passive income.

Boring and useless. Learned nothing.
Revisado: 03-15-16
I had to force myself to listen to this book, if you can call it a book. It was a difficult to follow list of things that didn't make much sense. A bunch of common knowledge crap thrown together to reach a minimum word count. He recommends that you pay little attention to grammar and prose, create a bunch of numbered lists and repeat yourself until you reach your word count. If that is not enough to make your words look like a book, add more pictures and spaces until you get to a decent page count. I guess a person could sell a book that way, I bought this one, but he will never sell me a second one. The narration is so monotone and boring that it is nearly unbearable ro listen to.

Learning how to write a book is easy. Learning how to write a book that doesn't suck and can actually make you money - and set you up for a full-time writing career is harder.
But it's nowhere near impossible. And it's far more doable than you can imagine. The trouble is, most books offering tips on how to write a book fail to address two key considersations: 1) Most self-published nonfiction books suck. 2) It's almost impossible to make a living from one self-published nonfiction book.

Best book I have heard in a long time!
Revisado: 02-22-16
Very informative and inspirational book. Concise and to the point, did not waste my time with fluff. Made me want to get up and write and research immediately. I really enjoyed it and believe it created a spark in me that will end up with me having more than one book published and that the first one will be ready to read in weeks, not months. I will listen again, and I cannot say that about any other book I have listened to.
