Historia
It’s a beautiful day in Newport, Rhode Island, when Phoebe Stone arrives at the grand Cornwall Inn wearing a green dress and gold heels, not a bag in sight, alone. She's immediately mistaken by everyone in the lobby for one of the wedding people, but she’s actually the only guest at the Cornwall who isn’t here for the big event. Phoebe is here because she’s dreamed of coming for years—she hoped to shuck oysters and take sunset sails with her husband, only now she’s here without him, at rock bottom, and determined to have one last decadent splurge on herself.

It was fun.
Revisado: 12-28-24
I thought the dialogue was clever. And I liked Phoebe, our heroine. She was thoughtful and honorable, even when she didn’t want to be. The other characters made sense. And the ending was right.

And just as consignment shop owner Reagan Summerside agrees to marry the hunky Walker Boone, her neighbors, sisters Annie Fritz and Elsie Abbot, step up their business as professional mourners. Silly, But Fun
Revisado: 09-20-22
I thought the dialogue was fun. I have no idea if people in Savannah talk like the characters do, but I liked the colorful language. In a weird way, it reminded me of a Wodehouse book.
Someone who wants to retreat from the real world, particularly while cleaning, might like this book.
