Historia
In the vast, domed cities of Earth, artificial intelligence is strictly controlled; in the distant Outer Worlds, colonists and robots live side by side. A Spacer ambassador is found dead and detective Elijah Baley is assigned to find the killer. But with relations between the two cultures in the balance, the Spacers insist that he work with a partner of their choosing – a robot partner, R. Daneel Olivaw. Baley has never seen a robot like Daneel before – and soon, though the Three Laws of Robotics should render the crime impossible, Baley’s partner becomes his prime suspect.

An absolute classic, written by a visionary.
Revisado: 02-29-24
Asimov melds science fiction with detective fiction, setting a precedent for the genre. Set in a future Earth where humans live in vast, enclosed cities to conserve energy, the story introduces us to Elijah Baley, a New York City police detective, and his partner R. Daneel Olivaw, a highly sophisticated robot. Together, they navigate a deeply divided society to solve a murder that threatens the fragile coexistence of humans and robots. Asimov crafts a compelling narrative that explores themes of prejudice, fear of the unknown, and the potential for technology to both divide and unite. Through masterful storytelling, he questions the essence of humanity and our relationship with technology, making "The Caves of Steel" not only a pioneering work of science fiction but also a timeless reflection on society.

Historia
In a time before the Foundations, psychohistory’s creator Hari Seldon is made to stand before the Emperor of the crumbling Galactic Empire to present how his scientific theory of predicting the future might be applied to the real world. However, Hari refuses to deploy his theory for political gain, setting off instead with reporter Chetter Hummin in quest of a place to safely apply his theory: Earth, the original home of humanity. All records of Earth have been lost to time. Hari will therefore have to look back into the past, in order to seal the future of humanity for ever.

Simply brilliant!!
Revisado: 02-10-24
I recently had the pleasure of experiencing Isaac Asimov's "Prelude to Foundation" as an audiobook, narrated by the incredibly talented William Hope. From the very beginning, Hope's narration captivated me, bringing Asimov's rich universe and complex characters to life in a way that felt both intimate and grandiose.
William Hope's ability to convey the nuances of each character, alongside the intricate plot and philosophical underpinnings of the story, was nothing short of remarkable. His voice became the perfect conduit for Asimov's vision, adding layers of depth and emotion to the narrative that I hadn't fully appreciated when reading the text alone.
The pacing of the narration was impeccable, allowing the story's tension and excitement to build naturally, while also providing moments of reflection when the deeper themes of the book were explored. Hope's clear and engaging delivery made the complex ideas accessible, and his passion for the material was evident throughout, making my listening experience all the more enjoyable.
"Prelude to Foundation" is a splendid story in its own right, but William Hope's narration elevates it to a whole new level. His performance is a testament to the power of a great narrator to enhance the enjoyment and understanding of a work. I wholeheartedly recommend this audiobook to both long-time fans of Asimov and newcomers alike. It's a five-star experience that I will undoubtedly return to in the future.

Historia
Richard Dawkins' brilliant reformulation of the theory of natural selection has the rare distinction of having provoked as much excitement and interest outside the scientific community as within it. His theories have helped change the whole nature of the study of social biology, and have forced thousands to rethink their beliefs about life.

Dawkins narrated end notes are super annoying
Revisado: 07-17-17
This book came highly recommended to me by multiple friends and colleagues. I regret purchasing this audio version as the constant endnotes narrated by Dawkins I feel detracted from the entire flow of the book and thus I found it very hard to get into.
