Historia
In perhaps his most important literary feat, Norman Mailer fashions an unprecedented portrait of one of the great villains - and enigmas - in United States history. Here is Lee Harvey Oswald - his family background, troubled marriage, controversial journey to Russia, and return to an "America [waiting] for him like an angry relative whose eyes glare in the heat."

A Very Good Meta Analysis of History
Revisado: 11-13-24
Mailer takes a thoughtful and reasoned approach in showing the background, motives, and integrity of the multiple witnesses to History in the Oswald assassination case. While much may be suggestive leading the reader to draw final conclusions, this is preferable to the many that sought a simplistic story for "the good of the country " while overtly seeking to cover up their own motives. Fascinating listen.

Historia
For the last 100,000 years, we Sapiens have accumulated enormous power. But despite all our discoveries, inventions, and conquests, we now find ourselves in an existential crisis. The world is on the verge of ecological collapse. Misinformation abounds. And we are rushing headlong into the age of AI—a new information network that threatens to annihilate us. For all that we have accomplished, why are we so self-destructive? Nexus looks through the long lens of human history to consider how the flow of information has shaped us, and our world.

Compelling Analysis
Revisado: 10-03-24
Throughout times people have been misleading and persecuted at the whims of the powerful and unethical. Harari breaks down the dangers of AI succinctly and matter-factly. Google gave away its search services to collect the data required to power AI. Them and China are playing the long game and we will be their pawns if we do not educate our people.

Historia
Drawing on a wealth of untapped archival materials and the reports of generations of family members - mayors, judges, scholars, diplomats, and journalists - The Hundred Years' War on Palestine upends accepted interpretations of the conflict, which tend, at best, to describe a tragic clash between two peoples with claims to the same territory. Instead, Khalidi traces a hundred years of colonial war on the Palestinians, waged first by the Zionist movement and then Israel, but backed by Britain and the United States, the great powers of the age.

it's not hard to imagine that the more broadly publicized facts presented to this generation will open sleeping eyes and steer our country to greater justice for all people and deserved justice for politicians and those that line their pockets.

Historia
For decades, Demi Moore has been synonymous with celebrity. From iconic film roles to high-profile relationships, Moore has never been far from the spotlight - or the headlines. Even as Demi was becoming the highest paid actress in Hollywood, however, she was always outrunning her past. Throughout her rise to fame and during some of the most pivotal moments of her life, Demi battled addiction, body image issues, and childhood trauma that would follow her for years - all while juggling a skyrocketing career and at times negative public perception.

A Tale for Tail
Revisado: 08-25-24
'Tail' is one of the derogatory epitaphs that men such as described in Demi's life use to refer to women: Sexual conquests to be discarded or worse, played and abused. Young and older girls woul be well-served to hear Ms. Moore's story and understand that beauty, love, respect, and happiness originate from within. The youngest of these need to be protected from predation until they can gain this awareness. Books such as this lie along that path.

Maybe Too timely politically
Revisado: 07-27-24
The first three books were great, but these last three ratchet up the political narrative going on in the real world. Loved author's attention to detail with locations and area attributes. it put me in the game as a reader. I also appreciated the limiting of retelling the previous books story as when going book to book. I stopped listening to another entertaining series when the author overly rehashed (sometimes verbatim) their prior work. no such laziness here.

Historia
When a series of devastating terror attacks brought down the United States, Conor and Barb assumed they were safe in their compound. They had everything they needed. They were armed and highly trained. But then, Barb was kidnapped. The kidnappers didn’t know why Conor was known as The Mad Mick. They didn’t know the fear and respect his name invoked in the shadowy underworld of covert operations. They didn’t know that when it came to protecting his family, he was without conscience, without compassion, and without equal. But they would soon find out.

Great book from non- English author
Revisado: 05-27-24
It stands to reason that authors turning out good books are out there, but we are infrequently offered their work. A Man Called Ove springs to mind. it is interesting to observe the sheen of other cultures through their writings, though I'm certain translators are pressed to bring forth the subtleties of the native language.
