Incredible Introduction to Inner Healing
Revisado: 10-26-23
I wish I had known about this book sooner. By the time of reading this I have already been together with my ADHD wife for 9 years before the diagnoses was made. Similarly she was 36 when "that makes sense" shoe dropped.
While her experience of life is somewhat different to that of Roxy, I can say I often empathised with Rich. I'm proud to say that we figured out many things as described in this book. From the point of diagnoses we have made massive life improvements within just one year. Reading this has motivated me to keep going and keep growing.
For anyone still lost, stuck, full of confusion and fear, this book is an excellent starting point in bringing awareness to the unnecessary shame. It won't exactly give you all the tools to further your inner healing, but it sure will crack open the door. Supplementary support is likely necessary. But as an entry point to the subject, this book is all it needs to be
Lighthearted, fun, vulnerable, insightful, short and sweet. A good read for ADHDs too.
Well done to you both to go from TikTok channel to published book. Amazing stuff.
All the best.

As a botanist and professor of plant ecology, Robin Wall Kimmerer has spent a career learning how to ask questions of nature using the tools of science. As a Potawatomi woman, she learned from elders, family, and history that the Potawatomi, as well as a majority of other cultures indigenous to this land, consider plants and animals to be our oldest teachers.

Truly Life Changing
Revisado: 09-07-23
I was moved to tears a number of times. Never have I been touched so deeply by a book.
Robin (the author) has helped me find something within me that I knew was missing. Something that I could not put my finger on until now.
I have learned how to feel gratitude. As in really FEEL it. Not just practice it or say the words cause it's the right thing to do.
I have already found many ways to implement the teachings of trees and the honorable harvest in my work and daily life.
I am inspired, awakened, rejuvenated, hopeful, informed and excited about life and all that I still have to learn about the natural world.
The stories are beautiful. The lessons are plentiful. The wisdom is just so damn wonderful.
I was sad when the book ended... But my journey to embracing the fullnes of reciprocity has only just begun.
I just want to give Robin the biggest hug. She is absolulty delightful and I hope that she knows she has used her gift so so wonderfully. Thank you for writing this.
I can't say enough good things about this book. Haven't stopped talking about it.. And I have already recommend it to several people.
Truly life changing.

I see what you did there.
Revisado: 07-15-22
At first I was a little annoyed at the excessive storytelling and success sharing. I thought just get to the damn good stuff already. But I realised that despite my "frustration" I kept at it. I wasn't going to put it down till I got what the author promised me. Eventually I realised what what going on.... I got delivered the method through the method itself. Well played.
Have had many "less successful" launched in my life. Hope to turn that astound this month. Some key points were brought to my attention. I have to say I didn't learn anything I didn't already know, but I left out some parts. This book helps lay out the blue print.
Thanks Jeff. Will write to you when we hit our first Million.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Simply excellent.
Revisado: 02-12-22
This is by far one of my favorite "personal development" books. Marks witty writing and personal stories make the concepts he covers extremely tangible and memorable.
I laughed out loud several times. But it's not about the laughs, it's the configuration and composition of ideas. Just the right amount of depth.
I thoroughly enjoyed this and look forward to reading it again in the future.
Also a shout out to the reader. Excellent performance. The best I've experienced on audible so far.

Good for brush ups
Revisado: 02-05-22
I wouldn't recommend this book as the first touch point for a reader new to the topics of communication and or leadership. The contents is very 'acedemic' and lacking the human touch, or anecdotal stories. I personally find these good to make the concepts more tangible and memorable.
That being said, the information in this book is universally good. It skates over many relevant topics without going into any of them in great depth. I think this is the purpose of this book and therefore makes for a great quick read to recap on one's existing knowledge. For this reason, I'm likely to read it again in a few months time. All in all it was a good and useful read, but not a life changer. And that is OK as not all books need to be.

It helped me.
Revisado: 02-02-22
I've had a strained relationship with alcohol for well over a decade. I read this book over a year ago and just quit. This is the longest I have been sober in my adult life. I no longer drink because I choose to, not because I'm not allowed to. I simply don't want it. This book played a major role in that. Deeply grateful.

Good as an introduction maybe
Revisado: 12-05-21
I thought the content was less like a book and more like a series of Cosmo magazine articles. Each short chapter (and there are tons of them) provides a quick overview of the problem and a question to ask yourself as the solution before skating on to the next thing. It goes wide, not deep.
For some people this would serve as a good introduction to sex and intimacy, especially if you have problems in this area. So I won't discount the value of the content or the knowledge or compitency of the author. She knows her stuff. But...
The biggest downside was an almost desperate, 'over the top' need to sound hip, cool, modern, liberal and contemporary. Some of the language and descriptions of things and people was bordering on childish. Most notably, the use of unprovoked, unnecessarily large quantities of swearing wasn't necessary at all. A couple of profanities is fine to emphasize a point, but they were crowbarred in at every turn.
It's not a bad book. I was just perhaps not the right audience.
