Captivating story yet disappointed at the end
Revisado: 12-11-19
The storyline is real and engaging, typical of Dean Koontz. Makes you wonder just how real this could be. Characters were interesting and varied. My only regret is the ending. No spoiler here in the review by I was left saying, “what the hell...” as the book ended. Very let down and feel incomplete after investing 12+ hours.

Engaging story and performance
Revisado: 04-15-18
I really enjoyed the story and performance. There were just slight annoyances. In different parts of the story, the author insisted on writing (and as such it’s also read to you) a line of code or a list in its entirety each time it comes up. It wasn’t necessary to the story and was irritating. Beyond that, though, I enjoyed the book and the author’s way of weaving you through to the full story at the end.

Historia
Until now, Kathryn Lyons's life has been peaceful if unextraordinary: a satisfying job teaching high school in the New England mill town of her childhood; a picture-perfect home by the ocean; a precocious, independent-minded fifteen-year-old daughter; and a happy marriage whose occasional dull passages she attributes to the unavoidable deadening of time.

Great story, whiny narrator
Revisado: 10-24-17
I thoroughly enjoyed the story with the authors vivid descriptions and the plot twists. However, I found Melanie Griffith as the narrator to be whiny and challenging to listen to. There was no inflection at key times during the story. No sorrow, no intensity, no intimacy. Her Irish accent was appalling and simply shouldn’t have been attempted. I found myself challenged this connect with the story because of the voice. Definitely a great book to enjoy but perhaps try hard copy or digital.

Captivating and painful
Revisado: 03-14-17
Outstanding book! It follows three main characters through the twists and turns of modern day racism. I found myself laughing and crying throughout and often times talking out loud to the characters as I listened. A must read for anyone looking for a great story, as well as a thought provoking study on how we view ourselves and others
