Historia
There’s something out there: A juggernaut of evil bearing down to crush the Republic - unless one lone Jedi, shunned and reviled, can stop it. Revan: Hero, traitor, conqueror, villain, savior. A Jedi who left Coruscant to defeat Mandalorians - and returned a disciple of the dark side, bent on destroying the Republic. The Jedi Council gave Revan his life back, but the price of redemption was high. His memories have been erased. All that’s left are nightmares - and deep, abiding fear.

It references KOTRO, but its setting up SWTOR.
Revisado: 07-26-23
A lot of reviewers are missing the point of the novel and just expect the same "Revan conquers all" plot from KOTOR. The book is meant to set up a story explored in the MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic, another Bioware game.
As for the book I was very entertained by all the characters and do not recall any boring or pointless interactions between them, and I've listened to this book 3 times as of writing this review. I thoroughly enjoyed the dynamics between Sechel and Scourge, and their conclusion was very satisfying. I also think the jailer becoming the unexpected liberator trope was handled very well and in a refreshing enough way to not be immersion breaking.
With regards to Revan and Meetra's fate, I know people have invested a lot into these two characters from KOTOR, but what was actually left of their story to be told? Revan returns in SWTOR and its very much a mixed bag. Should he have just be left to become dad, raiser of kid? What about Meetra? She just stays an exile? Revan was turned to the dark side by something, and it is natural for him to want to know exactly what that something was and neutralize it. Discovering that it was Vitiate, someone who had already dominated Revan before, its not unrealistic to assume he could do it again. It is tragic, but it is not left without hope. To me that's Star Wars in a nutshell.
Lastly, concerns about the pacing of the conclusion, I think are unfair. Time was of the essence, and the writing conveyed that very well in my opinion. I really don't see the issue people have with it.
The performance by the narrator is excellent, I even recall when playing SWTOR and finally meeting Scourge I was disappointed to not hear Marc Thompson's voice but instead a far weaker sounding English voice that was not in the least bit intimidating. Really the only voice I didn't care much for would be Bastila, and maybe Veela, But its a male narrator trying to do female voices. There's is only so much Marc can do.
Easily one of my favorite Star Wars novels, and it comes from a Mass Effect author, another incredible universe.

Historia
The human race is at a crossroads. In the coming years, we will make decisions regarding our human spaceflight program that will lead to one of two familiar futures: the open universe of Star Trek, where we allow ourselves the opportunity to spread our wings and attempt to flourish as an interplanetary species - or the closed, dystopian, and ultimately self-destructive world of Soylent Green. If we ever hope to live in the future that is the former scenario, our first stepping stone must be a manned mission to Mars.

In a time where partisanship is so rampant war is suggested, space is survival.

Historia
The Covenant has collapsed after a long, brutal war that saw billions slaughtered on Earth and her colonies. For the first time in decades, however, peace finally seems possible. But though the fighting's stopped, the war is far from over: it's just gone underground. The UNSC's feared and secretive Office of Naval Intelligence recruits Kilo-Five, a team of ODSTs, a Spartan, and a diabolical AI to accelerate the Sangheili insurrection.

Better than expected.

I read a good number of reviews prior to picking this up but after finishing it I can say it's better than I was led to believe.
I love Halsey, so the insight gleamed from this book is more than welcome. Ghost of onyx was one of my favorites too and it's continuation was long awaited. I was not disappointed.
Osman having an ausie accent threw me off due to her visual portrail in Halo 4 being very different (which I prefer), bit of a continuity error. Having a little look into Jul 'Mdama was nice, I guess. However his character after the events of Halo 4 and 5 is awful and is beyond saving.
Overall a great read if you're caught up on details from Nylunds books and a fairly decent performance by the reader.
