Amazing narration, great book
Revisado: 07-12-22
I didn’t get this book because of the book club or the hype. That kind of thing doesn’t hold a lot of weight with me, but this really is a book worth listening to! It grabs your interest from the start. Then has you on the edge of your seat. I love the Author’s narration. This is my second Catherine Steadman book and I can say I’m a fan. I would definitely recommend,

Historia
Deep in the heart of Appalachia stands a crooked farmhouse miles from any road. The Morrows keep to themselves, and it's served them well so far. When girls go missing off the side of the highway, the cops don't knock on their door. Which is a good thing, seeing what's buried in the Morrows' backyard. But 19-year-old Michael Morrow isn't like the rest of his family. He doesn't take pleasure in the screams that echo through the trees.

Revisado: 07-07-22
Amazing book. It is sad, twisted, captivating, shocking and heart wrenching. This is the kind of book that makes you stop what your doing to listen, a hand to your mouth. I absolutely love Ania Ahlborn and this book was even better than I expected.
. The narrator, Paul Boehmer is amazing as well.

Young Jude Brighton has been missing for three days, and while the search for him is in full swing in the small town of Deer Valley, Oregon, the locals are starting to lose hope. They're well aware that the first 48 hours are critical and after that, the odds usually point to a worst-case scenario. And despite Stevie Clark's youth, he knows that, too; he's seen the cop shows. He knows what each ticking moment may mean for Jude, his cousin and best friend.

So good…
Revisado: 07-06-22
There is a lot of character development in the beginning, but the characters are so well developed, and interesting, that it’s not a chore to get through. It speeds up quickly and doesn’t slow down. It is reminiscent of early Stephen King. I loved this book. The narration was wonderful. This is horror at its best. Ania Ahlborn is a master! This is my second book of hers and I’m on to my third. I believe I’ve found my new favorite horror writer.

Historia
A group of close friends gathers at a secluded cabin in the wintry mountains of Colorado for a final holiday hurrah. Instead, it may be their last stand. First a massive blizzard leaves them marooned. Then the more chilling realization: Something is lurking in the woods, watching them, waiting.... Now a weekend of family, friends, and fun has turned into a test of love and loyalty in the face of inhuman horrors. The only hope for those huddled inside is to fight - tooth and nail, bullet and blade - for their lives. Otherwise, they’ll end up like the monsters’ other victims: bright pools of blood on glittering snow, screams lost in the vast mountains.

Great book!!!
Revisado: 07-05-22
Some reviews have complained about it being to soapy, I didn’t get that at all. Yes, there is some character development, but that is a good thing. Some reviews have said it’s not scary. To that I say, yikes what do you consider scary? I love horror movies and books. While none of them truly scare me, I can recognize a scary movie or book as such. I would call this a scary book. It is also just a good book. It’s well written. It keeps your attention from page one. I couldn’t stop listening. Holy crap Ryan is a bad @$$!! This is a very enjoyable book! Worth a credit for sure! My first Ania Ahlborn and it won’t be my last!

Darkly delightful. Best book I’ve listen to in a while.
Revisado: 06-25-22
So good, so twisted. Think Flowers in the Attic mixed with a bit of Dexter. A gripping book, I listened almost nonstop. The story was fantastic, the narration was great. You really can’t ask for better.
*Heads up: if you can’t stand stories that contain violence or familial abuse, this is not the book for you.

Historia
Miah Gray is a 27-year-old former army soldier living in rural New Hampshire with his sister, mother, and her boyfriend. He is plagued by PTSD, finding solace, but not redemption, with the aid of prescribed cannabis. All he wants to do is get high, relax with a good sandwich, and watch a meteor shower with his neighborhood crush, Jen. When the sun's light is blotted out the following morning and the world is plunged into darkness, Miah finds himself locked down with his family, covering windows with trash bags, lighting candles, and following the arcane rules of an ancient prophecy.

Loved this book
Revisado: 01-18-22
Very interesting premise, well written, honest and engaging characters, edge of your seat suspense, and great narration what more could you ask for? It is one of those books that stays with you and leaves you thinking about the characters long after you’ve finished the book. One of my favorites.

Very clever and twisty. The narration is a little dry imo, but the book is so good it makes up for any deficit in narration. I would recommend.
