Great story with wonderful but strong leads
Revisado: 12-16-24
Great story, sweet but will not leave you with cavities. Likeable strong characters both FMC and MMC. I really enjoyed the story with just the right amount of spice and plot development. Will read/ listen from this author again.

I enjoyed the book. It had a strong female lead, a bit of mystery, a bit of romance (though I did not feel the connection between the two leads), overall a lot of fun.
Narration was good for the female characters but I did not like the was the narration for the male voices particularly the lead. I almost stopped listening because of that but I am glad I stuck it out.

Brilliant. Just Brilliant!
Revisado: 06-23-20
I don't write reviews often. In fact, I give up on books very quickly. I have read hundreds of books and I can honestly say I only finished perhaps half of them. This book however kept me interested every step of the way. It is fast-paced, has an interesting plot with twists, characters are likable, and has a superb narration. The twist at the end was not the most surprising I have ever encountered and I figured it out or had suspicions early on but it still kept me riveted to my earphones.
The narrator was spot on. Well done Scott Brick. I have now gone to find more books by both the author and the narrator. Thank you both for an entertaining listen.

Very funny and entertaining read / listen
Revisado: 04-28-14
Any additional comments?
I love how the Emma Chase broke from the usual mould and what we have as a result is like a breath of fresh air.
It is great to have book 1 dedicated to the POV of the male lead. I can’t help it, I am completely in love with Drew. His antics and denial and finally acceptance of the situation are just sigh worthy and very funny. He is sexy and arrogant on the outside yet soft on the inside. His inner thoughts made me laugh out loud and fall for him even more. The book is funny yet the buzz of hotness is right there with you throughout.
Drew is rich, charming and sexy as sin and he knows it. As such he has never had any problems with women, they fall at his feet except one. Drew has finally met his match and falls head over heels in love with Katherine but of course being the no commitment kind of guy he is, he diagnoses it as man flu and tries to convince us of this. Mmmh..we believe you. The book is written in a way that the main character is talking directly to us and tells us his story. This of course is from his POV. I was listening to this book while painting the interior of our house and I found myself rolling my eyes and laughing out loud so many times that my husband thought I had lost it.
The female lead was a strong character. Feminine and independent and we know this by her actions not one of those females who we are told by the author are strong yet act like a complete ninny. She is exactly what Drew needed and as a result the story is full of witty banter and tender moments. You get the feeling both characters put up a formidable front but are nothing more than marshmallow on the inside.
And the cherry on top..…it is narrated by Sebastian York. I mean come on, the man’s voice is enough to make my toes tingle. In case I did not make it clear…very good narration. I found this book by going through the list of books read by Sebastian. I think narration is as important as the story itself and tend to follow narrators as much as authors.
I could hardly wait for book two to come out but now that it is out and I have it in my library (of course it was on auto download) I am worried about listening to it. Would the female narrator be as good? Will book two live up to book 1? I would hate for it to be anticlimactic after waiting for so long.
If you have not listened to this yet what are you waiting for? It is definitely worth a credit/ purchase, anything just get it.

Very good read. Coud not put it down and finished this book in a day. For me to do that three things have to come together 1. Well written story 2. Good narration 3. Strong likeable characters
Where to start…
I did not expect much going into this book. Sure I expected it to be hot and easy which is what I was looking for but I was not prepared for how well this book was written. The characters are well developed and the story flows easily and seamlessly. No part of this read felt like a filler or an afterthought. Both characters were strong and flawed in their own way. I do not understand why most of the hot romance books out there have a pushover, whiney weak heroine. I am a woman and finding it harder and harder to relate with these heroines which is why I decided to try the m/m romance genre and boy oh boy did this book deliver. It is hot with a capital H. It is a contemporary story and the dialogue reflects this very well without sounding juvenile.
As for the characters I don’t even know who is my favourite, they work so well together. They are both alpha male and sexy as sin. It’s the best two for one offer. The chemistry is sizzling and the smexy scenes are scorching.
One thing that absolutely sealed it for this book was the narrator. It is my first time to hear a book narrated by Charlie David and it will not be my last. In fact I have gone back and searched for all books narrated by him and already bought my next one. Charlie does not just read, he performs. He draws you in and includes you making you feel almost as if the characters are right there with you. Superb work on this one. I have to say this one performance has put him right up there with my other two all-time favourites, Sean Crisden and Sebastian York. Sigh!
If you are looking for a fun no brains hot m/m romance that is written well, you will not go wrong with this book.

Historia
Austin Glass seems to have it all: a loving fiancée, a future with the FBI, and a healthy-sized trust fund. At least on the surface. He also has a grin and a wisecrack for every situation. But the smile he presents to the world hides a painful past he’s buried too deeply to remember, and his quips mask bitterness and insecurity. Austin has himself and most of the whole world fooled - until he meets a redhead in a pair of bunny slippers.

Witty and sexy
Revisado: 04-23-14
What made the experience of listening to Shattered Glass the most enjoyable?
The witty dialogue is in most cases laugh out loud. The monologue and the thought processes of Austin are hilarious at times and help us understand him and sometimes forgive his actions. Both leads are strong in but flawed in their own way but complement each other very well.
It is my first book from this author but it will definitely not be the last. The story never slows, its one thing after another with lots of twists and turns. There is no big revelation at the end of the book as most books are but lost of 90 degree turns that catch you off guard and keep you riveted to the book. The romance is always there and developing with its own ups and downs. I finished this book in 2 days it was that good. Even though there is no amex per say but there are definitely other things which for me were enough. This story and the writing was so good you did not need heavy smex scenes to keep your interest.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I cannot even choose. I liked both main characters, Austin and Peter as well as Kaye. The ending hints at a possibility of the next book and I cannot wait. It will be on my auto download for sure.
Have you listened to any of Joseph Northton’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
First time to listed to this narrator but it will not be my last. He has a good range of voices as well as accents. He can convey emotion and really draw you in. With more and more narrations he can only get better. Please Joseph narrate more books, you are on my auto download. If fact I searched for anything else he might have narrated but sadly this is the only one. He definitely added to the story
Any additional comments?
If you like m/m romance with a story then this book is for you. You will not regret getting it.

Colton stole my heart. He wasn't supposed to, and I sure as hell didn't want him to, but he crashed into my life, ignited feelings within me that I thought had died forever, and fueled a passion that I never knew could exist. Rylee fell out of that damn storage closet and into my life. Now I don't think I'll ever be the same. She's seen glimpses of the darkness within me, and yet she's still here. Still fighting for me. She is without a doubt the saint and I am most definitely the sinner.

Very entertaining read. Hot alpha H and smart h. I can not stand books where the h is all whiney and stupid, though I have read my fair share of those too. Its the difference between what makes me go back to an author or listen to a book only when there is absolutely nothing else. Right back to the story. The book was hot. The relationship/chemistry between the H/h was palpable. There was enough smex to keep you simmering but there is definitely a story that sucks you in as well. The story has a lot of internal monologue but it adds to the story. I also love books told from both H/h perspective and of course dual narrations. Both narrators were superb. In fact I have bought a few books from authors I never tried before simply because they were narrated by one or the other. They rounded off the book perfectly for me.
