Historia
Vanessa Jared, a 40-something divorcée, decided that the best way to pull herself out of their post-divorce slump was to form The Savvy, Sexy, Singles Club and start the "Do Me" portion of her and her friends' lives. But on the two-year anniversary, a sexy sheriff shows up on Vanessa's doorstep wanting her to help him keep his little sister from marrying her no-good ex. Vanessa is not down for this at all. She wants nothing to do with her ex...until she spots a photo of her ex's new fiancée wearing her grandmother's ring—which he clearly stole from her. So now it is on.

Lovable.

Enjoyable. The story avoids implausible drama. I love a love story about real grownups (40+).

Historia
In present-day California, Eleanor Bennett’s death leaves behind a puzzling inheritance for her two children, Byron and Benny: a black cake, made from a family recipe with a long history, and a voice recording. In her message, Eleanor shares a tumultuous story about a headstrong young swimmer who escapes her island home under suspicion of murder. The heartbreaking tale Eleanor unfolds, the secrets she still holds back, and the mystery of a long-lost child challenge everything the siblings thought they knew about their lineage and themselves.

Excellent
Revisado: 02-24-23
The start was a little slow. This is a story told out of sequence, which I typically enjoy, but it took me a minute to get use to the rhythm. Once I did… I couldn’t put it down. Except when I had to take breaks to process.

As a black woman, I could not tell who wrote what. I not only enjoyed the book, but I found Belle and her family very relatable.

Historia
Caitlyn Sullivan had come from a long line of Hollywood royalty, stretching back to her Irish immigrant great-grandfather. At nine, she was already a star - yet still an innocent child who loved to play hide-and-seek with her cousins at the family home in Big Sur. It was during one of those games that she disappeared. Some may have considered her a pampered princess, but Cate was in fact a smart, scrappy fighter, and she managed to escape her abductors. Callan Cooper was shocked to find the bloodied, exhausted girl huddled in his house.

Enjoyable
Revisado: 06-24-15
I liked the story line a great deal. It kept my attention. This was a new take on an old topic. My only complaint was the tone of voice used by the woman reading the part of Sophie bi found her voice rather irritating. Her German male voice was very loud and screeching and her voice for several of the female characters was rather soft. This combination made it difficult to listen to as I found myself needed to frequently adjust the volume.

Wtf
Revisado: 06-11-15
I had a really hard time digesting this novel. I do not like the "C" word, and this book is littered with its use. I guess if you are a fan of Holden Caufield then perhaps you will enjoy this book. The empathy and frankly the understanding of why this young man was so angry, was lost on me.

Good sequel
Revisado: 04-10-15
I really enjoy Kristin Hannah, but I have a hard time with spoiled children. I should have anticipated this since Marah annoyed me so much in the first book. Over all it was nice to learn more about the other characters I loved from Firefly Lane.
