Mostly amazing!
Revisado: 11-22-23
So there are a few things that I really enjoyed and some things that are okay. Let's start with what I think could be improved in the future.
The Meh
- The main seems to take some of the really big news on the chin, especially with any family news. Some of these interactions could have added a lot of flavor and depth to the book that was missing. Sometimes he can seem like a NPC and other times he is very human with typical emotions.
- Some of this is very Keanu Reeves in the Matrix, like "I know Kung Fu" and just starts fighting. Cool but going from a teen that knows nothing to an acrobatic MMA fighter is a jarring, like how did he get from point A to point B with ZERO trial and error. With his main power, he has trial and error but simply knows how to use his fighting?
- Felt a little rushed, skimming over some important details or interesting bits. This could have made the book a little longer. I'm torn on this one because I liked the pace of the book but sometimes it felt like he touched on something really big but decided not to get into it.
The Good
- The characters are very likeable. The best friend is someone that I would get along with in real life and the girl is very human and animated.
- The narrator, Neil Hellegers, is fantastic in this novel. Perfect flow and character voices.
- The story is fun and moves along quickly. It doesn't feel drawn out and the character doesn't drone on or complain endlessly about the same problem,
- The MC isn't an idiot and isn't a genius, he is a perfect mix and acts his age for the most part.
Conclusion, I could not put this book down. It was very interesting and kept a great pace. Minor details could be improved but I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a simple yet fun adventure. It was a little short (9 hours) which as mentioned before, adding a little depth could have solved. -1 star for the "meh" column.

What is going on?
Revisado: 10-20-23
First off, I feel like I'm listening to an Anime with the bowing, honor, and speech. The language is just off enough that it sounds translated. Second, I feel like I'm tossed into this book with very little backstory, You pick it up in context as it moves along but, honestly, it's flat out confusing. I've given this book a few tries and started over from the beginning. I just can't get through it.

Ginger Mitchell accomplished the impossible; the former call girl and now sort-of private investigator got into all of this to bring her mother’s killer to justice. But Darlene is still on the loose. It was bad enough when the woman was manipulating Ginger from afar, but now Darlene is in Portland wreaking up-close-and-personal havoc under the assumed identity of Isabelle Dunkirk.

Wonderful final book and ending. Can’t say enough about this series. It may have had some parts that were obvious or simple but this book was so well written. Thanks for the adventure!

Listens like you're binging a show on netflix
Revisado: 09-27-22
So I bought the first Roseland book over a year and a half ago, I kept putting it off for other things but never got around to listening to it. It is absolutely fantastic. The main character, Ginger, has been through some shit and though rough around the edges she is a really good person. It's a really fast paced book, very little downtime and a lot of information. Easily my favorite author so I might be a bit bias but he knocked this out of the park. Candace also does a wonderful job with the read and nails the voices. Great job, I'll be buying the next one in the series, Volume 2.

Fits in perfectly
Revisado: 08-17-22
This is one prequel I couldn’t put down. It lines up perfectly with KDT and it felt like the author was in the same groove as the rest of the series. Nick Podehl was spot on with his voices, I was a bit weary since it had been a while. Great book.

Loving this series
Revisado: 07-18-22
This series is great, the stat crunching could be minimized a bit but it’s not bad. It intertwines well with the other series and they did a very good job at keeping me interested. Full of action and, as always, hilarious.

Revisado: 01-06-22
Honestly, I was a big fan of the first two books but this one fell flat for me. It was just grinding with nothing to offer until the end and even then, it wasn’t all that much. It felt like they were just trying to release something to appease the fans. I hope the next book can bring my interest back.

Finally a litrpg without a moron for a MC
Revisado: 11-10-20
It's narrated by Nick Podehl, right there it's a great listen. There is a ton going on in this book which really makes it seem shorter than it is. I thought it was going to be a dumb kids book (given the cover of the book, I know, I know... don't judge a ...) It was actually quite entertaining. It's like Handmaiden's Tale meets Freaky Friday meets Realm of Arkon, weird combination but it works. The main character is fairly intelligent and doesn't have everything handed to him. which to me is a breath of fresh air, it's a good story with a lot of meat to keep the writer going for a while. Give it a shot I think it's worth a read or listen.

I couldn't stop reading
Revisado: 05-08-18
This book is funny, ironic, and very interesting. I have listened to all 3 books and the narrator nails it! I didn't know what to expect when starting this book, it was on sale so i figured, why not? I crushed all 3 books and I still want more. (I hear there will be a book 4!) Anyway, get this book, you will not be disappointed!
