Historia
London: 1968. Liz Houghton is languishing as an obituary writer at a London newspaper when a young girl’s disappearance captivates the city. If Liz can break the story, it’s her way into the newsroom. She already has a scoop: Her best friend Marisa is a police officer who is assigned to the case. Liz follows Marisa to Dorset, where they make another disturbing discovery. Over two decades earlier, three girls disappeared while evacuating from London. One was found murdered in the woods near a train line. The other two were never seen again.

Cannot be the same author as Her Royal Spyness series
Revisado: 11-21-24
The story line was rather ridiculous, with all the unsolved mysteries that this woman wrapped up so quickly. And her own history made the story even more bizarre. What happened to Rys Bowen’s talent for clever storytelling?

Another delightfully written & read Irish Village Mystery installment!
Revisado: 08-26-24
The wit & wisdom of Siobhan O’Sullivan is thoroughly entertaining. What brought me crashing down at the very end was Owen’s proclamation that his dream is to transform their newly acquired historic Irish farm into a “global” haven for tourists & artists! What could destroy a quaint Irish village faster than throngs of elites flocking into the countryside. Not to mention the necessary end of the premise of the series title, Irish “Village” Mysteries

Could this really have been written by the by same author who wrote the delightfully clever “Her Royal Spyness” series??the
Revisado: 04-20-24
Perhaps Rys Bowen has a junior apprentice writing for her now? To be truthful, this book did not live up to the standards set by Rys Bowen in her witty & wonderful Royal Spyness series. No intrigue, predictable, clichéd characters, & I found it difficult to listen to hours of an unrelenting Cockney accent, where upon the speaker appears not to annunciate vowels, T’s in particular. Otherwise, a bland listen that helped me to fall asleep at night, so not all bad 😉
