Historia
“You like it darker? Fine, so do I,” writes Stephen King in the afterword to this magnificent new collection of twelve stories that delve into the darker part of life—both metaphorical and literal. King has, for half a century, been a master of the form, and these stories, about fate, mortality, luck, and the folds in reality where anything can happen, are as rich and riveting as his novels, both weighty in theme and a huge pleasure to digest.

These stories are delivered with masterful narrations and will take you through a comprehensive tour of your emotions. The tour ends with feelings of gratitude for King’s generous and courageous invitation to expand our self awareness.

Historia
The world crashed to pieces on June 23rd and Adrian Ring wasn't anywhere near ready for it. He had no guns, no food, no friends around, a cat that wanted to slip out the back of the condo and a girlfriend trapped in the heart of the city. This is the story of how he survived. Real, flawed, and raw, Dark Recollections is Adrian's own story of how he survived after "That Day". Told through his eyes as he talks to his laptop, affectionately named "Mr. Journal".

Historia
In the world of Warbreaker, each person is born endowed with the power of one Breath―which can be sold and collected by others, then used to Awaken objects and even corpses to do their bidding. A few individuals who die in glory return as gods, with the power of thousands of Breath, but no memory of their mortal lives―and are enthroned in the Court of Gods in Hallandren’s capital. To Vivenna and Siri, princesses of Idris, the abuse of Breath and the claim of the Returned to be gods are repugnant blasphemy.

Sullivan is great but this book… ….meh
Revisado: 05-21-24
The story took too many gigantic leaps just to keep the story from unravelling. The characters are one dimensional, not relatable , and cellophane wrapping paper provides more suspense/mystery than the backstories. Ive made it out to be worse than it really is…. Or have I?

Historia
The Covert Passive Aggressive Narcissist: Finding Healing After Hidden Emotional and Psychological Abuse is the most comprehensive and helpful audiobook on the topic of covert narcissism. This type of narcissism is one of the most damaging forms because the abuse is so hidden and so insidious. You can be in a relationship that can last for decades and not realize you are being psychologically and emotionally controlled, manipulated, and abused.

Suddenly it all makes sense but its jarring
Revisado: 06-28-23
The synopsis made me curious, I downloaded this and never stopped the playback once until almost the very end. I continued to increase the playback speed as I literally listened with a slack jaw to someone read a book precisely describing my experience in my 10 year marriage and needed to hear more, right now. I was in shock and needed to hear all of it. No less than 20 times did I almost stop listening as it hurt to hear, it terrified me, it made me sick to my stomach, and I felt overcome with humility and self pity. Each sentence was spot on accurate. Each description fit perfectly. And I had no idea this was a thing. I had no idea what was making my one time perfect relationship turn so suddenly into an insidiously cold horror. I had been convinced I was a universal detriment and this book literally saved my life. It is the most important book I will ever read and the most difficult to accept.
