Historia
The powerful story of the Red Army's battle of liberation against the Nazi invader - from Stalingrad all the way to Berlin. In February 1943, German forces surrendered to the Red Army at Stalingrad, and the tide of war turned. By May 1945 Soviet soldiers had stormed Berlin and brought down Hitler's regime. Total War follows the fortunes of these fighters as they liberated Russia and the Ukraine from the Nazi invader and fought their way into the heart of the Reich. It reveals the horrors they experienced.

Excellent history, great narration, worth it
Revisado: 08-29-18
Among my library I have no less than 50 WWII books of all types and from all perspectives, however the Eastern Front (especially as told by the Red Army) are an unfortunately uncommon type of audiobook - this book does a fine job covering that. My only regret is that it is not longer.
I took little to no issue with the narration. Yeah, it might be a little cheesy when the narrator is speaking for a child or girl, but what can you expect? I found him to be great in all other respects, certainly NOT a deal killer for what a great story it has to tell. I fully intend on getting the other two Eastern Front audiobooks from Michael Jones as soon as I have the credits.

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Not even a viewer of his show - but this.. THIS!
Revisado: 04-19-18
Although I always respected Trevor Noah for what apparent values he holds, I was never a particular fan of his show, and so I didn't anticipate how much I would love this book.
Trevor has an amazing, rich story to tell, and he does so with comedy and a surprising amount of grace. I would recommend this book to any of his fans and even many people who aren't.
And I won't even lie, I legitimately cried in the last chapter of the book. Profoundly moving finale. Well played Trevor!!!

Historia
One of the most acclaimed books of our time - the definitive Vietnam War exposé and the winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award. When he came to Vietnam in 1962, Lieutenant Colonel John Paul Vann was the one clear-sighted participant in an enterprise riddled with arrogance and self-deception, a charismatic soldier who put his life and career on the line in an attempt to convince his superiors that the war should be fought another way. By the time he died in 1972, Vann had embraced the follies he once decried. He died believing that the war had been won.

More than a detailed history
Revisado: 11-08-17
The publishers summary is the best single-sentence description. I bought this book thinking it was just an in depth look at the war in general, turns out it was an amazingly annotated biography of the most important American involved in Vietnam. The book is full of history as well of course, at least half of it is walking the listener through the paces since before 1960 even, but the biographical accounts of John Paul Vann were an extremely pleasant (albeit tragic) surprise. Highly recommended.

In what may be the last memoir to be published by a living veteran of the pivotal invasion of Guadalcanal, which occurred almost 70 years ago, Marine Jim McEnery has teamed up with author Bill Sloan to create an unforgettably immersive chronicle of horror and heroism.

1 of the BEST!!!
Revisado: 01-15-17
Although I have a variety of audible genres, a constant favorite of mine however, are WWII (and specifically Pacific Theater) books. Among the 15 or so in my collection, this account finds itself comfortably on the same shelf / tier as my other three favorite Pacific Theater war accounts:
With The Old Breed: At Peleliu and Okinawa
-E.B. Sledge
Bloody Ridge, and Beyond
-Marlin Groft
The Ultimate Battle
-Bill Sloan

Sparked by a controversial debate in February 2014, Bill Nye has set off on an energetic campaign to spread awareness of evolution and the powerful way it shapes our lives. In Undeniable: Evolution and the Science of Creation, he explains why race does not really exist; evaluates the true promise and peril of genetically modified food; reveals how new species are born, in a dog kennel and in a London subway; takes a stroll through 4.5 billion years of time; and explores the new search for alien life, including aliens right here on Earth.

Bill Nye! Need I say more? Well, I did.
Revisado: 06-07-15
Fascinatingly complex concepts delivered simply, logically and entertainingly.
Bill doesn't attempt to hide his own awe in the truly mind-boggling and thrilling facts that he shares, and I for one appreciate that. His personal commentary and direct experience with so much of the topics discussed make it that much more than just a "reading", it's a solid 10hr~ performance.
